Checko talks about his personal history that led him to pursue journalism and photography. He discusses his education and employment working in art galleries in Denver, Colorado and Las Vegas, Nevada and the various art exhibitions he has designed including in the Marjorie Barrick Museum at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and in the Reynolds Senate Building in Washington, D.C.

She shares her thoughts about how Las Vegas has changed and how she has contributed to the city's art scene as a staff photographer for Vegas Seven (a local magazine), the New York Times, and the Marjorie Barrick Museum.

Oral history interview with Dr. Javier A. Rodríguez conducted by Elsa Lopez and Barbara Tabach on December 19, 2019 for the Latinx Voices of Southern Nevada Oral History Project.

Dr. Javier Rodríguez, Biology Professor at the University of Nevada Las Vegas, talks of his personal and educational history that led him to UNLV. He discusses his migration from Puerto Rico to California where he received his PhD from the University of California Berkley and became a biological museum curator for various animal specimens. He later moved to Las Vegas to teach at UNLV where he has now been for nearly two decades; Dr. Rodríguez shares how UNLV has changed since he first started working here, including the university's increased interest in faculty research to become a Top Tier institution. Rocio shares her personal history growing up in Bogotá, Colombia and how she immigrated to the United States. She talks about motherhood, her Latina identity, and her experiences raising her daughter in Los Angeles and Las Vegas with her husband. Rocio also discusses her employment history and how she was able to achieve her professional goals of becoming a Spanish and English teacher for the Clark County School District (CCSD)'s Family and Community Engagement Services (FACES) program. Her interview is conducted in Spanish.

Oral history interview with Doris Merolle, Alan Rosenberg, and David Rosenberg conducted by Claytee D. White on December 19, 2018 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Merolle discusses her early life in Holland and moving to the Bronx, New York in 1945. Brothers Alan and David Rosenberg met their sister Doris Merolle for the first time in 2018. Alan and David talk about their education in New York, their employment as cab drivers, and Alan’s decision to become a nurse. David remembers researching the genealogy of his family and realizing that Merolle was related through their father. Merolle describes moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1986, her employment at the Circus Circus Hotel and Casino, and being unable to make Las Vegas her home. Lastly, Merolle and the Rosenberg brothers discuss the difference between the neighborhoods in the Bronx and in Las Vegas.

Oral history interview with Harry Helfrich and William Grant conducted by Claytee D. White on April 15, 2019 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. In this interview, Helfrich discusses his early life in Pennsylvania and enlisting to the United States Army Airborne Division. He talks about his experience with firearms, arriving to Boulder City, Nevada in 1987, and becoming a member of the Boulder City Rifle and Pistol Club. Helfrich remembers becoming president of the Club, and Grant talks about his role as the secretary and treasurer for the Club. Lastly, Helfrich and Grant discuss the Club’s youth programs, and the increase of Club members.

Oral history interviews with Nancy Deaner conducted by Claytee D. White on June 05, 2018 and June 11, 2018 for the Boyer Early Las Vegas Oral History Project. In the first interview, Deaner talks about her upbringing in Reno, Nevada and in Las Vegas, Nevada. She remembers her father’s career in gaming, and her employment at the Mint Casino and Circus Circus Hotel and Casino. Later, Deaner talks about her involvement with the Shade Tree, her role as the Las Vegas Cultural Affairs Director, and public art in Las Vegas. In the second interview, Deaner discusses working with the Neon Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, and the Arts District.
