Tilton was the chief engineer for the San Pedro, Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad Company. W. H. Bancroft was the first vice president of the San Pedro, Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad Company. J. Ross Clark was the second vice president of the San Pedro, Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad Company.
