Bramlet, Al, 1917-1977

Elmer “Al” Bramlet (1917-1977) was a prominent union leader in Las Vegas, Nevada during the middle of the 20th century. As the union leader of the Culinary Workers Union Local 226, Bramlet made significant contributions to the union and its members. However, Bramlet also amassed various enemies during his time as union leader, which led to his early death in 1977 at the hands of Thomas Hanley.

Graglia, Joseph, 1876-1934

Joseph Graglia was an early resident of Las Vegas, Nevada. Born February 9, 1876 in Italy, he settled in British Columbia, Canada with his wife Frances. Graglia and his family moved to Rhyolite, Nevada in 1908 and later moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1911.

Graglia, Frances, 1877-1941

Francesca Graglia was born in Italy in 1877. She was an early resident and entrepreneur in Las Vegas, Nevada, along with her husband Joseph. She moved to British Columbia, Canada from Italy with Joe Graglia, and the family later moved to Rhyolite, Nevada in 1908 and Las Vegas, Nevada in 1911. Graglia helped her husband operate his many businesses, ranging from the Union Hotel and Bar, Pair o’ Dice Nite Club, and National Hotel, all located in Las Vegas. Francesca Graglia died in Las Vegas in 1941.

Foley, Roger Drummond, 1917-1996

Roger Drummond Foley (1917-1996) was Nevada’s 23rd Attorney General and was nominated to the federal United States District Court, District of Nevada by President John F. Kennedy in 1962. A few of Foley’s famous cases during his tenure included the radiation exposure of the “Baneberry” Nuclear Test and the protection of the Ash Meadows Desert Pupfish in United States v. Francis Leo Cappaert.
