Oral history interview with Gillian Kabat conducted by Joyce Marshall on June 29, 1996 for the UNLV University Libraries Oral History Collection. In this interview, Kabat discusses her career as a dancer and being a member of the Bluebell Girls dance troupe. She talks about obtaining working visas to perform in the United States, being a dancer during the 1960s, and transitioning into a teaching career.

Fluff LeCoque oral history interviews

Abstract

Oral history interviews with Fluff LeCoque conducted by Joyce Marshall on May 05, 1992 and May 21, 1992 for the UNLV University Libraries Oral History Collection. In these interviews, LeCoque discusses her early life in Montana and her career as a dancer. She talks about moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1947, singing at the Last Frontier Hotel with the Chuck Gould Orchestra, and traveling around the world in a dance troupe. LeCoque remembers performing at the Moulin Rouge in Los Angeles, California and working with Donn Arden. Later, LeCoque recalls dancing in Lido in Paris at the Thunderbird Hotel and becoming a theater company manager for Hallelujah Hollywood! at the MGM Grand Hotel-Casino. Lastly, LeCoque talks about integration of African American dancers in production shows.

Nancy Williams oral history interview

Abstract

Oral history interview with Nancy Williams conducted by Joyce Marshall on June 13, 1996 for the UNLV University Libraries Oral History Collection. In this interview, Williams talks about her early life and career as a dancer. She describes moving to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1948, organized crime in Las Vegas casinos, and segregation of African American entertainers at the time. Williams remembers riding horses to and from casinos, the American Guild of Variety Artists (AGVA) union, and early showgirl costumes. Lastly, Williams talks about retiring from dancing and establishing a school of dance in Las Vegas.

Lido de Paris Costume Designs

Abstract

The Lido de Paris Costume Designs contain 29 full color costume designs likely created for the Lido de Paris show in Paris, France which ran during the 1950s and 1960s. The designs are unsigned, but likely created by costume designer Louis Folco. Some designs match costumes worn in the 1956 "C'est Magnifique" show.

Chip Mosher Literary Papers

Abstract

The Chip Mosher Literary Papers (approximately 2005 to 2018) contain copies of mainly short stories written by Las Vegas, Nevada educator, poet, author, and newspaper columnist, Charles Jon "Chip" Mosher. The materials include examples of Mosher's fiction and a copy of The Anarchy of Memories: short fiction featuring Las Vegas icons which includes a chapter written by Mosher entitled "Memories of a Modern Woman in the Modern World." Also included is a copy of America, Please!, an audio disc which contains spoken word poetry and one science fiction short story authored by Mosher. Rich Rizzo oral history interview

Oral history interview with Rizzo Rich conducted by Nancy Hardyl on June 19, 2003 for the UNLV University Libraries Oral History Collection. In this interview, Rich discusses the choreographing process for the Lido in Paris show in Paris, France and collaborating with the Bluebell Girls dancing troupe. He talks about working with Donn Arden, surviving the MGM Grand Hotel fire, and Las Vegas, Nevada entertainment during the 1980s. Later, Rich describes the evolution of shows in Las Vegas and working with smaller, community theaters.
