Barbara Givens was born September 13, 1937 in California. She grew up in Reno, Nevada and moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1952 with her family when she was 14 years old. Givens graduated from Las Vegas High School and enrolled in the first matriculated teacher's program at the Southern Regional Division of the University of Nevada at Las Vegas (UNLV).

Robin Greenspun is a film and television producer and director in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2015 she directed and produced the film Semicolon; The Adventures of Ostomy Girl, a documentary about Dana Marshall-Bernstein, a young Las Vegas woman living with Crohn's disease. In the 1970s and early 1980s Greenspun worked as an assistant director for Trans American Video and other production companies before starting her advertising and public relations firm.

Curtis Rufus Amie, Sr. was born April 27, 1927 in Marshall, Texas.

Amie made it through eleventh grade and then graduated miner's training school to become a miner. Amie was the first African-American driller and blaster at the Nevada Test Site. He retired in 1978.

He was a Boy Scout Troop Leader for Troop #67 from 1958 to 1965.

He owned a Dairy Queen franchise store from 1973 to 1982.

Amie was an United States Army Sargent from 1946 to 1949 with an honorable discharge.
