Dr. John Richard Shepherd was born November 25, 1936 to Harley and Mary Shepherd and was raised in southern Illinois. He married his wife, Nancy Shepherd, on June 22, 1963 in Pana, Illinois. His army experiences in Chicago, Illinois and Alabama convinced him and his wife to look for a warm dry climate in which to live, and they relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1968.
Alice Arleen Kimball Horn was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. She was born December 22, 1918 in Smith County, Kansas to Anna and Mike Baetz. She moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1944 and lived there for sixty-two years, working for the Southern Nevada Telephone Company, also known as Centel and later known as Embarq. Horn died February 7, 2007.
Levi Walter Syphus, born April 22, 1866, was a pioneer of southern Nevada who represented Lincoln County in the Nevada Legislature between 1902 and 1912. He lived in Panaca and Saint Thomas, Nevada, and died on April 14, 1949.

Fred Kennedy was a character and stunt actor known for his more than twenty-five years of experience. Born on December 22, 1909 in Ainsworth, Nebraska, Kennedy performed stunts in films including The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938), Red River (1948), and the Howard Hughes-produced The Conqueror (1956).
Kennedy died on December 05, 1958 in Natchioches, Louisiana while filming The Horse Soldiers.
