Dr. Bradley Rothermel was born in Monroe Center, Illinois into a family of educators. He attended Northern Illinois University in De Kalb for his bachelor’s degree and the University of Illinois for his Master’s and PhD. Rothermel’s work history includes coaching in the Chicago Cubs organization and at Kansas State and West Virginia University as athletic director and business manager, before arriving at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) in 1981.
Paul Huffey was born 1938 in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 1947, Huffey’s father purchased a lot of land in Paseo Park and built a home for his wife and only child. In 1956, Huffey graduated from Las Vegas High School, enlisted in the United States Army Reserve and enrolled in the University of Nevada, Reno. He taught history at Basic High School in Henderson, Nevada for nine years.
Edward A. Collins was born on March 30th, 1916. He moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1955. He worked as a dealer, a captain in a showroom at the Frontier Hotel, and had many more jobs on the Las Vegas Strip.
Mike Devere was born 1947 in Reno, Nevada. He moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1950. He worked numerous jobs in the culinary department of different hotels and was a university police officer for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Charles A. Bennett was born on August 20, 1914 to Arthur and Olive Bennett. Bennett attended the University of Kentucky and went to work in Los Angeles with a friend in the restaurant business. He later decided to move to Las Vegas, Nevada.
Pam Hawkins is a native of Las Vegas, Nevada. Hawkins received her Bachelor's and Master's degree from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Hawkins first teaching position was for three years at Brinley Middle School.
