Gans, Jim

E. James (Jim) Gans was raised in Seattle, Washington and Yakima, Washington before he moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1950. Gans started in school at Bonanza Elementary, then to a new Hyde Park Junior High where he was part of the first class and on to Rancho High School where he graduated. His first jobs were mowing lawns, a paper route, and working at a dog boarding kennel for 25-cents an hour.

Williams, Amie S.

Amie Williams "is an award winning producer/director specializing in documentary film and video for television, NGO’s and political campaigns. Her films, such as We Are Wisconsin, No Sweat and Uncommon Ground have won numerous awards, including the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation Peace Grant, the International Documentary David Wolper Award, a NEA Media Grant, and the SONY/Streisand Award for emerging female filmmakers. Amie’s work has appeared on the Discovery Channel, PBS, BBC, Current TV, Al Jazeera English and Kenya Television Nation.

Broudy, Pat, 1923-2017

Radiation survivors advocate "Pat" Broudy was born Alice Patricia Sutton in Overland, Kansas in 1923 at the home of her grandparents. She spent her formative years in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1948, she ventured with friends to San Francisco, California where she met Marine Major Charles A. Broudy. Major Broudy was attending radiological school there. After a whirlwind courtship they were married in 1949. Major Broudy had already served in WWII as a pilot in the Pacific theater.

Tijerina Revilla, Anita, 1973-

Dr. Anita Tijerina Revilla is an associate professor for the College of Liberal Arts in the Department of Interdisciplinary, Gender, and Ethnic Studies. She is a Queer Chicana scholar whose work has focused on student activism, Chicana feminism, joteria, and the Latinx educational pipeline.

Wells, Herbert C., 1927-2010

Herbert C. Wells was born April 11, 1927 in Omaha, Nebraska. After his father was killed in a plane crash in 1931, his mother moved herself and Wells to Los Angeles, California to be near her husband's parents. They moved several times, but the goal was always to find good schools for Wells and his sister.

Antonio, Marie Antoinette, 1970-

"Interviewed by Cecilia Winchell and Stefani Evans. Marie Antonio was born in 1970 in Cagayan de Oro which translates to Golden Friendship. Her father was a doctor who worked as a government employee while her mother was a piano teacher who inspired her love for music and piano at the young age of four. Her grandparents lived on a small island where they would visit for holidays and celebrations, and in her free time she spent her days embracing the beautiful nature of the Philippines and playing outside.

KDWN (720 kHz) is a commercial AM and FM radio station in Las Vegas, Nevada, owned and operated by Beasley Broadcast Group. The station pronounces its call letters as "K-Dawn." The station's studios are located in the unincorporated Clark County area of Spring Valley. Its transmitter is on Galleria Drive in Henderson. Programming is simulcast on 250-watt FM translator station K268CS at 101.5 MHz. KDWN airs a talk radio format. It runs several nationally syndicated conservative talk hosts, along with local shows, most of which are brokered programming.
