Toleno, Mary Griffith, 1927-1997

Mary Etta Griffith Toleno (1927-1997) was the daughter of Fred Griffith, a Lovelock, Nevada physician, and his wife Violet. Toleno helped establish the Nevada Girls State service organization in 1947 and served as a regent for the Nevada State Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, representing the Old Spanish Trail Chapter.

Tracy, Spencer, 1900-1967

American film star and the first actor to win two consecutive Academy Awards for best actor, Spencer Bonaventure Tracy was born in Milwaukee, Wisonsin on April 5, 1900 to Caroline Brown and John Edward Tracy. Tracy joined the United States Navy in 1918. Upon his discharge, he enrolled at Ripon Colle as a premed student. While attending Ripon, Tracy auditioned for and eared a part in a play, and quickly discovered his true calling, acting. He moved to New York, New York in 1922 in order to enroll at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts.

William H. Hernstadt served as a Nevada state senator from 1977 to 1984 and was owner and general manager of the Las Vegas television station KVVU TV 5 during the early 1970s. He also served as president of the Jewish Federation of Las Vegas from 1981 to 1982. Hernstadt graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York with a degree in physics in 1957.
