Tiffany, Ken, 1936-1999

Musician and arranger Kenneth (Ken) M. Tiffany, Jr. was born in 1936 and remembered always having a love of music. After learning various instruments he decided the trombone was his favorite. He played professionally all over the country with many noted swing bands before settling in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he was the lead trombone player at the Sahara Hotel for many years.

Tullis, Lewis E., 1935-2012

Lewis Eugene Tullis was the youngest of seven children born to David and Aroetta Tullis on September 3, 1935 in Hinckley, Utah. Lewis was a career firefighter and worked in the Clark County Fire and Rescue Department from 1956 until he retired as a captain in 1993. After he retired, Tullis moved to Utah and passed away on July 5, 2012.

Holabird, Fred

Fred Holabird is a collector, appraiser, and auctioneer of predominatinaly western Americana memoribilia. Previous to starting his own appraisal firm called Holabird-Kagin, he was a mineral exploration geologist. His work on mines sparked an interest in the history of mining and Old West memoribilia, which lead to his collection and future appraisal businsess. He has authored pieces in both academic and hobby related mining publications, and still works as a geologist consultant part time.

Holabird, Robin

Robin Holabird has scouted locations for Nevada-based films in her role as Deputy Director of the Nevada State Film Commission since 1988. Some of the films she has worked on have included: City of Angels, Sister Act, Showgirls, The Bodyguard, Independence Day and Lethal Weapon 4. She founded the Reno Film Festival and has also reviewed films in her weekly radio show on KUNR-FM in Reno, Nevada since 1983.

Lytle, Mary Virginia Perkins, 1883-1970

Midwife Mary Virginia Perkins Lytle was born on June 21, 1883, in Overton, Nevada, a community that would become her life-long home. In 1904 she married John Lytle. Their daughter Genevieve was the first child born in Las Vegas, Nevada. After suffering the loss of her first three children, Lytle realized the need for a doctor or nurse in the isolated Southern Nevada region. She traveled to Salt Lake City, Utah, and trained in obstetrics.

Raben, Barbara, 1945-

Barbara (Shulman) Raben (1945- ) is a leader in the Las Vegas, Nevada Jewish community. She moved to Las Vegas in 1991 and was a member of Temple Beth Sholom before joining Midbar Kodesh Temple shortly after its establishment in 1995. Raben became involved with the Southern Nevada Chapter of Hadassah in 2003 when she participated in the Hadassah Leadership Academy program. She later served as President of the Chapter. She is also involved with the Jewish Family Service Agency of Clark County, Nevada.
