Kaye, Norman, 1922-2012

Award-winning poet and musician Norman Kaye was born Norman Kaaihue on September 22, 1922. He and his sister, Mary, were born into a Hawaiian show-business family, and played in their father's band, Johnny Kaaihue's Royal Hawaiians. After serving in the army during World War II, Kaye and his sister formed a group that evolved into the Mary Kaye Trio. They first played Las Vegas, Nevada in 1947.

Kerkorian, Kirk, 1917-2015

Kirk Kerkorian was born in 1917. He was highly influential in the building of Las Vegas, Nevada, especially the Las Vegas Strip area. He helped build Bally's, The International, and the MGM Grand. Kerkorian died on June 15, 2015.

Kiel, Conrad

Conrad Kiel was an early settler of southern Nevada who moved to the state in 1871 and owned Kyle Ranch (an alternate spelling of his surname) in modern day North Las Vegas, Nevada. Conrad Kiel was born February 26, 1907 in Union City, Pennsylvannia and migrated to southern Nevada to operate a saw mill in Kyle Canyon near Mount Charleston and a ranch in North Las Vegas, Nevada that sold goods to the miners in the area. Conrad Kiel passed away at his ranch on January 3, 1894 at the age of 86.

Barbara "Barb" Germain Killian was born on November 25, 1935 in San Diego, California. Barbara married Lawrence S. Germain in June of 1975.

Killian obtained a bachelor of art degree in physics and has the occupation of being a physicist. Killian also took graduate level mathematics and engineering courses. Killian has a masters degree in management.
