Abstract
The Nevada Division of State Parks Records consist of materials produced or collected between 1863 and 1978 by the Nevada Division of State Parks. The collection includes materials recovered at Spring Mountain Ranch belonging to the Kiel, George, and Wilson families. The majority of the collection consists of administrative records and correspondence from the Nevada Division of State Parks. It also contains a photograph album of images taken during excavation efforts at the Pueblo Grande de Nevada archaeological site.

Biographical / Historical Note
The Nevada Division of State Parks is charged with protecting and managing parks in the Nevada State Parks System. The Nevada Legislature renamed the system the Nevada Division of State Parks in 1963 and reorganized operations under the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

Acquisition Note
Materials were deposited in UNLV Special Collections and Archives by the Nevada Division of State Parks, who retain ownership, between approximately 1975 to 1982; accession numbers T-23, 1977-213, 1979-79, 1980-109, 1981-113, and 1982-5.
Processing Note
Materials were processed by Special Collections Staff. In 2015, as part of a legacy finding aid conversion project, Franklin Howard revised and enhanced the collection description to bring it into compliance with current professional standards. In 2020, as part of an archival backlog elimination project, Angela Moor and James Howard rehoused the materials and revised the finding aid.
