The Charla Glimp Photograph Collection (approximately 1947-1958) consists of photographic prints relating to Ellsworth Elmer Baker's grocery store located at 1315 North D Street in Las Vegas' historic Westside. Photographs include Baker with neighborhood children, at the opening of the Moulin Rouge, and exterior views of the grocery store.

Biographical / Historical Note
Ellsworth Elmer Baker opened a grocery store at 1315 North D Street in Las Vegas' historic Westside. The store was just off Jackson Avenue and was open from 1947 until it went bankrupt in 1958 due to competition on Rancho Drive and Las Vegas Boulevard. Baker went on to work at a local car dealership. Born in Hannibal, Missouri on June 30, 1914, Baker was married to his wife, Helen, and the couple had three children: Charla, Marylyn, and Ronald. Baker passed away September 16, 1983.
