    The meeting was called to order by Basileus Billie Rayford at 11:03 a.m. at Holy Trinity A.ME. Church.
    Soror Billie began our meeting by welcoming the members of Kappa Xi who came to participate in our joint meeting. Those in attendance were: Sorors Ehraeda Rucker, Craigen Rucker, Kathryn Anthony, and Ayanna Eagan.
    Soror Barbara Kirkland read 1st Corinthians - Chapter 13, as our meditation. The Pledge followed.
    OFFICER REPORTS
    BASILEUS - Soror Billie announced that February is “Heart Month Healthy Month”. “We must check our blood pressure frequently, in order to keep it under control”.
    GRAMMATEUS — Soror Billie asked us to take time to read January’s chapter minutes that were attached to today’s agenda. Soror Jacki Brown made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Soror Betty Thomas Orr seconded the motion. Motion passed.
    TAMIOCHUS - Soror Tina Rimmey reported the following balances for January 22-31 in the chapter accounts: Beginning Balance Operating Account: $14,701.34. Grand total deposits - $20,678.61. Grand total checks written $21,177.83. Ending Balance - 24,841.72. Beginning Balance Community Account: $8,717.78. Grand total deposits - $2,960.00. Less $10,146.66 (from Operating Account) and $1,400.00 (from Far Western Regional Account). Ending Balance $131.12. Beginning Balance Fundraising Account: $12,828.91. Grand total deposits - $1,613.00. Grand total checks written - $5,620.00. Ending Balance - $8,821.91. There were no questions regarding the report. The report will be filed for audit. Tina also reminded us to make sure that we have paid our regional conference assessments and to add $9.00 to our dues if we have not paid them as yet.
    PECUNIQUS GRAMMATEUS - Soror Tasha Daniel reported the following: Total collected in the Operating Account was $23,514.61. Total collected in the Fundraising Account was $1,613.00. Grand total collected was $25,127.61.
    EPISTOLEUS — Soror Ethel Archibald distributed even calendars for the months of February and March. She requested that if of us had information that should be included on the calendar, that we should e-mail her. Announcements that had been on our web site were read: To commemorate Black History Month, the Black Graduate Student Association of U.N.L.V. invited us to attend the performance “Destination Freedom” which will be held on February 26th, 12:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. @ U.N.L.V. - Moyer Student Union Ballroom - 4505 S. Maryland Pkwy.
    Soror Ethel also mentioned that the American Public Works Association is sponsoring scholarships. Soror Ethel mentioned that she had applications.
    The Juntenth Committee of Las Vegas also sent us a communication regarding the upcoming celebration which will be held on June 18* in Lorenzi Park @the Sammy Davis Jr. Pavilion. Time: 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
    Soror Billie mentioned that Theta Theta Omega participated last year and we shared the expenses with the Links and NBLIC. She asked if we would like to participate again this year.
    Soror Willa White made a motion that Theta Theta Omega and NBLIC
    Share expenses again this year and participate in the celebration. It will cost $200.00 if we register early. Soror Annette Craighead seconded the motion. Motion passed.
    HODEGUS - Soror Quin Rivers began her report by thanking this month’s hostesses: Mae Flennoy, Brenda Dumas, Loveda Ford, Ina Dorman, and Rhoda Anderson. Soror Gloria Washington will coordinate next month’s hostesses. February birthdays and anniversaries were acknowledged and visiting sorors were introduced.
    Additional Hodegus news: Soror Shirley Carroll has been promoted, Soror Yvonne Atkinson-Gates has been hospitalized, Soror Elizabeth Sheffield’s sister is ill, Soror Celeste Brown’s father is ill, and Soror Gwen Bartlett Gates’ mother and sister are ill. Ivy Beyond The Wall celebration was held last night at Palm Funeral Home for Soror Barbara Creer. Funeral services will be held today at Zion United Methodist Church at 1:00 p.m.
    Those soror who are interested in participating in “Secret Soror” are asked to fill out the forms and return them to Soror Quin today. If there are any changes in your personal information, please let Soror Quinn know! Soror Quin also mentioned that Postal Service has printed Marion Anderson stamps. We should buy them often, in order to keep them in print.

    GRADUATE ADVISOR - Soror Donnyss Rucker reported that Soror Ouida Brown attended Kappa Xi’s meeting and worked with the nominating committee by presenting a parliamentary procedures workshop. A slate of officers was established, elections were held, and the new officers have been installed.
    Meetings have been held to complete the Yearly Reports, the University Recognition Packet, reports that are to be submitted to the Directorate and Regional Committee Chair, and their chapter calendar has been completed. There are three sorors that are on the Dean’s Honor List!
    They are sorors: Ayanna Eagan, Genova Hooks, and Ehraeda Rucker.
    NOMINATIONS COMMITTEE - Soror Nadine Reid-Hill mentioned that it’s time to select our delegates to the regional conference. The following sorors names have been submitted to be on the slate: Naquir Baker, Brenda Dumas, Ouida Brown, Natasha Williams, Francis Perry, Sandra bass, Sonya Horsford, Donnyss Rucker, Billie Rayford, Celeste Brown, Annette Craighead, Victoria f Franklin and Josie Gaines. Eight delegates will be selected and voting will be in March.
    MEMBERSHIP - Soror Maxine Randolph reported that the final workshop for new sorors was held this morning. Attention to our rituals will be on-going. If there are any sorors who are interested in working on the Membership Committee, please let Soror Maxine know. The committee will be working on some things to do for the rest of the year. Name badges for 2005 will be updated.
    PROGRAM BOOK - Soror Billie stated that today is the last day to complete the pink committee commitment form. The information garnered will be printed in the Program Book and distributed @ our Chapter Operations Workshop. The workshop will be held on February 16th @ the NW Region Service Center - 2490 Maverick Street - 6:00 p.m.
    WAYS AND MEANS - Soror Peggy Selma reported the deadline to submit adds for the Souvenir Booklet is February 27th. Ads should be given to Sorors Marian and Jackie. Each soror will be given 4 tickets to the ball today. March 12th is the final day to turn in ticket money.
    CONNECTION - Soror Verlia Hoggard is planning the AKA Day At The Capitol.
    STANDARDS - Soror Jacki Brown reported that the committee will meet on February 22nd at her home. The purpose of the meeting is to review the chapter’s progress toward the goals that will be presented @ our March meeting.
    SPECIAL/AD HOC COMMITTEES
    AKAteens - Soror Jackie Hall reported that the AKAteens have recently participated in the following activities: feeding the homeless and the Unity Fest. They will also make Easter baskets for the children at the Shade Tree Shelter.
    NBLIC - Soror Dorothy Johnson reported that 60 people will be participating in the NBLIC workshop,
    ARTS AND HUMANITIES - No report
    IVY AKADEMY - Soror Jackie Caffey was presented a plaque for being this year’s recipient of the “Thelma Tyree Award”.
    Following the presentation Soror Jackie told us that our chapter was awarded a Las Vegas Centennial Education Grant. The grant calls for our Ivy Reading AKAdemy tutors and tutees to publish a book entitled 100 African American Educators Past and Present of Las Vegas. Local black educators are asked to complete the applications and submit them to Soror Jackie in the self-addressed envelopes that she has provided. It was also mentioned that beautiful books were presented to the children who are participating in the AKAdemy in the name of Mrs. Dalena Knight, Soror Billie’s mother.
    Lastly, a raffle was held. The prize was a book that was written by Soror Jackie’s grandmother.
    SCHOLARSHIP - Soror Celeste Hunter informed us that she and Soror Billie attended a meeting with Ronald McDonald Charities on Tuesday, February 1st. Our chapter was the first sorority/fratemity to submit matching funds of $5,000.00 this year. Ronald McDonald Charities will be matching our contribution with another $5,000.00. Now our scholarship budget is $10,000.00! The applications are to be submitted by February 15th to Ronald McDonald Charities. High school seniors who have a GPA of 2.5 are asked to pick up scholarship applications entitled “Ronald McDonald Scholarships for African Americans” and check Alpha Kappa Alpha. The committee will meet on March 21st to select the winners.
    TTO FOUNDATION FEASIBILITY STUDY - In the absence of Soror Sonya Horsford, Soror Sandra Morgan passed out a questionnaire. We are to prioritize the items listed in rank order. The committee will use the results of the survey to determine the focus of the chapter in regard to fundraising and other activities that could be done through the foundation.
    The next committee meeting will be on February 8th at Nevada Partners.
    2005 FAR WESTERN REGIONAL CONFERENCE - No report
    The next conference meeting will be held on February 26th, 3:00 p.m., at Charlotte Hill Elementary School.
    Soror Sonya Goldsburro asked for volunteers to help man the Hospitality Suites and to greet conference attendees at the airport. Sign-up sheets were circulated.
    WOMEN OF DIVERSITY CENTENNIAL CELEBRATION - Sorors are asked to submit programs and pictures from past sorority activities (from the 1960s to the present) to Soror Sharon Savage. These items
    will be used as part of traveling exhibition here in Las Vegas, during the Centennial Celebration. Soror Sharon will scan and return all items given to her.

    ANNOUNCEMENTS
    1 ■ If you have been nominated to serve as a regional conference delegate, make sure that all assessments and dues have been paid.

    The local chapter of the Wilberforce University Alumni Association has
    invited us to participate in a challenge fundraising tea and fashion show, which will be held on Sunday, February 27; 1-5 p.m.; Neiman Marcus (Fashion Show Mall); Mariposa Room. Donations are $50.00 and Soror Flora Shaffer has tickets.

    Chapter Operations Workshop will be held on February 16th; NW Region Service Center; 6:00 p.m. All sorors are invited to attend.

    Leadership Seminar Hotel Reservations are now open.

    Soror Domini Calloway asked if we would make sure that we sign in
    each meeting. This is necessary to insure that we have quorums, when we vote.

    The Alliance of Black Culinarians will hold their Gourmet Grazer on Sunday, February 13th; Riviera Hotel;

    Soror Celeste Brown announced that her daughter Sarah will be attending the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Sarah will be selling tickets to local events in order to raise money for this endeavor.

    Emerald Ball — Kudos to Emerald Ball Committee chaired by Sorors Peggy Selma and Keysa Rogers; Jewels, Souvenir Journal, Decorations, Hostesses, Awards, Raffles, Finance, Door Prizes and Silent Auction Committees; all members of Theta Theta Omega Chapter and Kappa Xi, and our community award recipients on a fabulous evening of fun and entertainment. Sorors, you are a class act!

    Scholarship Committee chaired by Soror Celeste Hunter assisted by Sorors Edna States, Peggy Selma, Jacqulyn Shropshire, and Billie Rayford selected the 2005 Theta Theta Omega scholarship recipients. They are: Alisha Printup — Valley High School, Calisha Cooks — Rancho High School; Kiara Fairman — Valley High School; Paris Harrell — Mojave High School; and Kimberly Holford — Coronado High School. Each student will receive a $1,000 scholarship from Theta Theta Omega matched with SI,000 from Ronald McDonald House Charities. Thank you sorors for your support.

    Theta Theta Omega Chapter Chapter Meeting Minutes March 5, 2005
    The meeting was called to order by Basileus, Soror Billie Rayford at 11:06 a.m. at Holy Trinity A.M.E. Church. Soror Barbara Kirkland led the meditation.
    OFFICER REPORTS
    BASILEUS: Soror Billie welcomed everyone to the meeting and reminded the chapter that the first deadline for
    Regional Conference registration was today. Any registration received after today will be assessed a late fee.
    GRAMMATEUS: Soror Tisha presented the minutes from the February meeting.
    The body requested that the spelling of Hodegos, Tamiouchos, and Soror Nakia Barker’s name be corrected. Soror Tisha Johnson made a motion to accept the minutes with the corrections. Soror Wilhelmina Lee seconded the motion. Motion passed.
    TAMIOUCHOS: Soror Tina Rimmey reported the following ending balances for the statement dates February 5-28, 2005: Operating Account = $14,739.41, Fundraising Account = $25,525.32, and Community Account — $1,156.82. The report will be filed for audit.
    PECUNIOUS GRAMMATEUS: Soror Tasha Daniel report the following money was collected for the month of February: Operating Account = $3,408.00, Fundraising Account = $6,117.50, and Community Account =
    $1,300.00, for a Grand Total of $10,825.50. The report will be filed for audit.
    EPISTOLEUS: Soror Ethel Archibald presented the March and April event calendars. The Mother’s Day card initiative was discussed and included on the calendar. An invitation was received from a chapter in California to attend their fashion show event to be held in Glendale, CA.
    HODEGOS: Soror Quin Rivers recognized and thanked this month’s hostesses: Soror Gloria Washington,
    Soror Lois Bolden, Soror Edie Gillette, Soror Joan Martin, and Soror Emma Sutton. The March hostesses for the Executive Board meeting will be determined at a later date. Soror Quin will contact the hostesses before the March 16th meeting. Hostesses for the April meeting will be Soror Maxine Randolph, Soror Winnie Pettis, Soror Natasha Williams, Soror Deneen Butler, and Soror Sami Randolph.
    Happy Birthday wishes were extended to Sorors Emma Sutton, Elsie Bryant, Margaret Crawford, Brenda Dumas, Verlia Hoggard, Diane Stith, and Patti Hester. Happy Anniversary acknowledgements were extended to Soror Debra Toney and Honey Do D.C., Soror Kenyatta Johnson and Honey Do Randy, and Soror Amanda McWilliams and Honey Do Derick.
    Congratulations were extended to Soror Tina Rimmey for a promotion at the Monte Carlo Hotel, Soror Flora Shafer for being featured in the Las Vegas Sun, and Soror Brenda Taylor for her marriage on January 22, 2005 to Fred Bailey.
    Get Well Wishes were extended to Sorors Nadine Reid-Hill, Brenda Taylor, Yvonne Atkinson-Gates. Special Prayers were requested for Soror Elizabeth Sheffield’s sister, Soror Celeste Brown’s daughter, Soror Gwendolyn Bartlett Gates mother, Soror Barbara McCants-Hill’s mother, and Soror Ethel Archibald’s mother.
    Sympathies were extended to Soror Tanya Flannagan for the loss of her uncle, and Soror Stacey Hardy-Desmond for the loss of her mother.
    There are 14 sorors participating in the Secret Soror program. Soror Quin requested that all sorors with address, phone number, or e-mail changes contact her in order to update her records.

    GRADUATE ADVISOR: No report.
    STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS
    PROGRAM: Soror Barbara McCants-Hill reported she was active with the Emerald Ball Committee, began
    preparations for the Young Author’s Program, attended the Emerald Ball Committee meeting, Regional Conference meeting, and met with the Basileus and 2nd Anti-Basileus to plan the rest of the calendar year.
    The Ivy Reading Academy is continuing at Wendell Williams Elementary School. Soror Jackie Caffey is still looking for educators to be interviewed for the book that will be written about African-American educators in Las Vegas. The Young Author’s program is in need of a committee co-chair. Soror Barbara will be the other co-chair for this committee.
    Soror Barbara reminded committee chairs to meet with their committees and begin dialoguing and planning for this year’s events. It was also suggested that we consider combining chapter activities and committee events.
    OPERATIONS: No report.
    MEMBERSHIP: Soror Maxine advised the first meeting of the Membership Committee will be March 28. The 2004 new soror packets have arrived from the International Office for those sorors initiated in September 2004. Name badges for all financial sorors were provided for the meeting. Sorors are asked to return the name badge before leaving the meeting. Sorors new to Theta Theta Omega will receive a notebook with helpful information about the chapter. Welcome gifts were provided for reactivating/transferring sorors.
    WAYS AND MEANS: Soror Peggy Selma presented the Emerald Ball Committee Update. The ball will be held on March 19, 2005 at the Monte Carlo Hotel. The final date for submitting ads for the souvenir journal is today, March 5. The menu for the ball was presented. Soror Peggy thanked the chapter and the committee for all of their hardwork to make the event a financial and emotional success.
    NOMINATING: The committee presented a slate of delegates for the Regional Conference. There were 59 eligible/financial voters in attendance at the meeting. 53 ballots were cast. All financial members voted by secret ballot. The chapter delegates for the 2005 Regional Conference will be Soror Sandra Bass, Soror Celeste Brown, Soror Ouida Brown, Soror Shirley Carroll, Soror Annette Craighead, Soror Brenda Dumas, Soror Victoria Franklin, and Soror Billie Rayford. The alternates will be Soror Nakia Barker, Soror Josie Gaines, and Soror Sonya Horsford.
    TELLERS: The tellers for the meeting were Soror Celeste Brown, Soror Flora Shafer, Soror Denise Levi,
    Soror Willa White, and Soror Loveda Ford.
    SPECIAL/AD-HOC COMMITTEES
    DIAMOND/GOLDEN SOROR CONCERNS: Soror Annette Craighead announced the first meeting of the
    committee will be held after the Regional Conference.
    STANDARDS: Soror Jackie Brown presented the chapter goals for 2005. The goals are as follows: 1)
    Reactivate inactive sorors, 2) Enhance undergraduate and graduate chapter relations, and 3) Develop the leadership skills of chapter members. Soror Billie advised the new chapter goals will be updated on future agendas. Next month, the mid-year survey report will be circulated.
    FAR WESTERN REGIONAL CONFERENCE: Soror Tisha Johnson reported that the registration committee
    received 510 registration applications to date. Today is the last day for early registration. The committee expects to receive additional registration forms before the late registration deadline.
    Soror Patty Hester made a motion for the chapter attire for the conference to be as follows^Wednesday & Thursday: camp shirts with white, pink, or green T-shirt underneath; Friday: Day: pink sweater set with black slacks or

    AKATEENS: Soror Tisha Johnson reported the AKAteens participated in a community service project on February 19. On Feberuary 26, the group learned a step routine in order to try out for the Unity Fest Step Team. On March 6, 13 AKAteens tried out and made the step team. The group is scheduled for a relationship workshop on March 19 and will perform a community service activity on March 26.
    BLACK FAMILY: Soror Ina Dorman reported the committee is planning a chapter activity in May. The
    committee meeting date will be announced at a later date.
    IVY READING ACADEMY: Soror Jackie Caffey requested sorors volunteer to be interviewed for the book
    being written about African-American educators in Las Vegas. The last day to be interveiewed will be March 17. Thank you’s were extended to Soror Barbara Kirkland, Soror Billie Rayford, and Soror Sandy Bass for their pariticipation in the interviews and supplying photos for the book. Soror Celeste Brown and Soror Barbara Kirkland donated books in memory of Soror Billie’s mother. Soror Celeste Hunter gave a gift for the raffle to be held in April and May.
    Health/NBLIC: Soror Dorothy Johnson presented a list of the upcoming events for the NBLIC for March through October 2005. The NBLIC Western Regional Office has provided funding for one lap top, a projector, and a projector screen.
    TTO FOUNDATION FEASIBILITY COMMITTEE:Soror Tisha Johnson reported the next meeting will be held on March 29, at 6:00 p.m. at Nevada Partners. The committee tallied the surveys received at the February meeting. From the surveys, the chapter chose women’s issues, family and children, and education as their priority foci. The committee will meet again to submit a proposal to the chapter at a later date.
    SCHOLARSHIP: Soror Celeste Hunter advised the next committee meeting will be held to choose the scholarship recipients. The meeting will be held on March 23, at 5:30 p.m. at Ronald McDonald House.

    Theta Theta Omega Chapter Chapter Meeting Minutes May 7, 2005
    The meeting was called to order by Basileus, Soror Billie Rayford at 11:03 a.m. at Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel. Soror Barbara Kirkland led the meditation.
    OFFICERS REPORTS
    BASILEUS: Soror Billie announced that the Scholarship Reception was held on May 1, 2005. There were several TTO sorors in attendance. The scholarship recipients were as follows: Alisha Printup, Calisha Cooks, Kiara Fairman, Paris Harrell, and Kimberly Holfcrd.
    The Health/NBLIC Committee collaborated with the Links, Inc. on April 30, 2005 at Nevada Partners during a women’s health fair. Fifty Medicare and Youth bags were distributed to the participants at the event.
    Soror Billie announced the AKA Day at the Capitol was a great success. The event was held in collaboration with the National Coalition of 100 Black Women. Notebooks were distributed to the participants including bills brought before the legislature to be voted on that concern the African-American community, the school district, and our families.
    Soror E. Lavonne Lewis, Regional Director, recognized Soror Billie Rayford’s hard work and effort on the AKA Day at the Capitol, as well as all of her work for TTO.
    GRAMMATEUS: Soror Tisha Johnson moved to accept the minutes for the April 2, 2005 meeting. Soror Patti Hester seconded the motion. Motion passed.
    TAMIOUCHOS: Soror Tina reported the following ending balances for the
    statement dates April 2 - 30, 2005: Operating Account = $24,452.54; Fundraising Account = $22,665.50; Community Account = $1,531.82. The report will be filed for audit. Financial cards have been delivered and may be picked up at the Tamiouchos table.
    PECUNIOUS GRAMMATEUS: Soror Tasha Daniel reported the following money was collected for the month of April: Operating Account = $1,847.00; Fundraising Account = $1,270.00; Community Account = $0.00. The report will be filed for audit.
    EPISTOLEUS: Soror Ethel Archibald presented an updated roster to the chapter.
    She announced that the updated roster, chapter by-laws, and manual of standard procedure should be updated by each individual soror. An updated May and June calendar was distributed to the chapter.
    Soror Ethel read written correspondence from Calisha Cooks thanking the chapter for the scholarship she received.
    HODEGOS: Soror Ethel announced that we were not having May hostesses for the meeting. The June hostesses will be Sorors Maxine Randolph, Rose Igeleke, Maria Williams, Mae Flennoy, and Tanya Flanagan. The hostess for the May Executive Committee Meeting will be Soror Edna States.
    Happy Birthday wishes were extended to Sorors Arlette Williams, Rosilynn Russ McCann, Loveda Ford, Jacqueline Brown, Ina Dorman, and Minnie Stringfellow.
    Happy Anniversary wishes were extended to Soror Marian Bums and Honey Do William, Soror Darlene Hancock and Honey Do Allen, Soror Billie Rayford and Honey Do Lee, and Soror Nadine Reid Hill and Honey Do Ray.
    Congratulations were extended to the chapter for their hard work and effort to make the Regional Conference a success.
    Get Well Wishes were extended to Soror Peggy Selma and her mother; and Soror Celeste Brown and her daughter, Sarah.
    IVY LEAF REPORTER: Soror Adrienne Hester reported the 2004 Founder’s Day Luncheon was featured in the Ivy Leaf Magazine. Additionally, the TTO calendar of events was submitted to the Las Vegas Sun and Las Vegas Review-Journal.
    Press releases were submitted to the Ivy Leaf for the following areas: Undergraduate Update, Regional Listing, Newsmaker, and Ivy Beyond the Wall. Regional Conference press releases and Public Meeting media alerts have been sent to the local press.
    GRADUATE ADVISOR: No report
    STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS
    PROGRAM: Soror Barbara McCants-Hill reported that she attended the Ivy Reading Academy program last week. Four winners from the Young Author’s Program will be freatured at a ceremony next week at Wendell Williams Elementary School.
    OPERATIONS: Soror Edna States reported she attended the By-laws Committee
    meeting, participated in AKA Day at the Capitol, attended the Scholarship luncheon, and assisted in greeting the scholarship recipients.
    MEMBERSHIP: Soror Maxine Randolph reported the Membership Committee will
    schedule a formal meeting to discuss the fall events after the Regional Conference. She distributed “New Soror” packets to sorors who have transferred into the chapter.
    Soror Billie made an announcement that the chapter may want to revisit the idea of having a membership intake this fall. The idea should be revisited after the Regional Conference.
    WAYS AND MEANS: Soror Peggy Selma distributed an evaluation form for the
    Emerald Ball. The committee will collect the forms at the end of the meeting.
    STANDARDS: Soror Jacki Brown announced that the committee met to compile
    the results of the mid-year survey. The areas that need improvement were leadership training, attracting caliber women to membership, and dissemination of Regional information.
    SPECIAL/AD-HOC COMMITTEE REPORTS
    2005 FAR WESTERN REGIONAL CONFERENCE: Soror Kaweeda Adams
    announced that the next and final planning meeting will be held on May 14, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. in the Laughlin room at the Flamingo Las Vegas. She requested that chapter members also attend this meeting to help finalize all events and activities. All chapter members are requested to submit a final written report of the status of their committee activities at this meeting.
    Soror Kaweeda recognized the efforts of the committee chairs, committee members, and chapter members. She also thanked all sorors for their hard work, time, and energy spent to make the conference a success. All sorors are asked to again sign-up to work on committees at the conference. The chapter suspended the meeting for 15 minutes to allow the committee to request chapter members to sign-up to work the conference.
    Delta Beta Omega and Eta Epsilon Omega chapters have offered to help work on committees when they arrive at the conference. The Hospitality Suite will be held in Soror Lavonne Lewis’ suite. The men of Omega Psi Phi and Alpha Phi Alpha have offered to co-host the suites on Thursday and Friday nights.
    Soror Bertha Pendleton extended a special invitation to the entire chapter to attend the Public Meeting. The award to be given to the honorees was displayed.

    AKATEENS: Soror Jackie Hall reported the AKAteens will have culminating
    senior recognition and underclassmen recognition on May 27, at 7:00 pm. The fee will be $20 for sorors, this will help to underwrite the cost of the dinner for the AKAteens. The jackets purchased for the AKAteens was displayed.
    IVY READING ACADEMY: Soror Jackie Caffey reported there will be a Closing
    Reception held to recognize the children in the program on Thursday, May 12 at 3 p.m. The reception will also honor the educators in the community who were interviewed and . contributed stories and information for the book. Soror Jackie recognized Soror Billie for the donation she made to the children for their summer program.
    HEALTH/NBLIC: Soror Billie recognized the chapter for their participation in the Women’s Health Fair held in collaboration with the Links, In c. and The National Coalition of 100 Black Women.
    TTO FOUNDATION FEASIBILTIY: Soror Billie reviewed the goal, purpose, and
    timeline for the committee.
    SCHOLARSHIP: Soror Celeste Hunter announced that the Scholarship Reception
    held on May 1, at the Rio Hotel was a success. There were 5 scholarship recipients who received $1500 from Theta Theta Omega, $1000 from Ronald McDonald House, and $500 from the Presidential Freedom Scholarship.
    CONNECTION: Soror Billie Rayford announced the AKA Day at the Capitol was a
    great success. The event was held in collaboration with the National Coalition of 100 Black Women. Notebooks were distributed to the participants including bills brought before the legislature to be voted on that concern the African-American community, the school district, and our families.
    CONSTITUTION/BYLAWS: Soror Ouida Brown reported that the committee met
    at her home to make suggested changes to the bylaws. At the executive committee meeting it was suggested that the committee delay presenting their recommendations to the chapter until the September meeting.
    EAF: Soror Billie reported TTO is a Bronze level chapter, as we donated $300 in addition to being 100% funded. There were also $675 individual donations made by chapter sorors.

    Theta Theta Omega Chapter Chapter Meeting Minutes
    November 5, 2005
    The meeting was called to order by Basileus, Soror Billie Rayford at 11:07 a.m. at Holy Trinity A.M.E. Church. Soror Barbara Kirkland led the meditation.
    OFFICER REPORTS
    BASILEUS: Soror Billie welcomed everyone to the meeting. Soror Rose Coker was introduced to the chapter and
    recognized for recently founding the Coker Foundation. Soror Billie announced the Coker Foundation would partnership with Theta Theta Omega, The Links, and the Pollard Foundation in sponsoring the Thanksgiving Basket give-away this year. Soror Coker presented a check in the amount of $750 from the Coker Foundation.
    Soror Billie recognized Soror Diane Pollard for the Pollard Foundation’s contributions.
    Soror Billie thanked Kappa Xi for attending the meeting.
    GRAMMATEUS: Soror Tisha Johnson presented the minutes from the June, September, and October meetings. Soror Tisha moved to accept all three months meeting minutes as presented. Soror Verlia Davis-Hoggard seconded the motion. The motion passed.
    Soror Billie called Soror Nadine Reid-Hill to the floor to ratify the Officers nominations made at the October meeting. Soror Nadine read the list of nominations:

    Soror Nadine moved to accept the report of the Nominating Committee. Soror Ouida Brown seconded the motion. Soror Billie read the list of nominations to be voted on at today’s meeting. Soror Billie appointed Soror Elizabeth Sheffield, Soror Sandra Stewart-Bass, Soror Thais Baccus, Soror Patti Hester, and Soror Dorothy Earl as tellers for the election.
    Soror Barbara McCants-Hill presented the 2005 - 2006 Program. Soror Barbara moved to accept the Program as presented. Soror Edna States seconded the motion. Discussion was held. Soror Diane Pollard moved to amend the motion to include the Juneteenth Celebration on June 17, 2005 on the Program. Soror Willa White seconded the motion. The amended motion passed. The original motion passed.
    Soror Ethel moved to approve spending $300 for the room rental fee at Doolittle Community Center for the National Family Volunteer Day. The motion was seconded by Soror Barbara McCants-Hill. The motion passed. Sorors were asked to donate $10 toward the purchase of supplies for the Thanksgiving basket.
    Soror Donnyss Rucker moved to support Soror E. Lavonne Lewis’ campaign for a second term as Far Western Regional Director. Soror Ethel Archibald seconded the motion. The motion passed.
    TAMIOUCHOS: Soror Tina Rimmey reported the following ending balances for the October bank statement: Operating Account = $21,788.53, Fundraising Account = $16,680.25, and Community Account = $1,771.82. The report will be filed for audit.
    Soror Tina presented the proposed Chapter Budget for 2006. Soror Tina made a motion to present the budget as proposed. Soror Patti Hester seconded the motion. The vote was held. The motion passed with 2 votes in opposition.
    PECUNIOUS GRAMMATEUS: Soror Tasha Daniel report the following money was collected for the month of October:
    Operating Account = $365.00, Fundraising Account = $165.00, and Community Account = $0.00; for a grand total of $530.00 collected. The report will be filed for audit.
    EPISTOLEUS: Soror Ethel Archibald presented the November and December event calendars. Soror Ethel announced Soror Verlia Davis-Hoggard was recognized as trustee of the Nevada Library Association. Soror Josie Gaines received a brick at the City of Hope in California for being recognized as Lion’s Club Member of the Year. Congratulations were extended to Soror Aithany Rucker for passing the Georgia State Bar Exam.
    Thank you notes were read from Soror Beverly Winston, Soror Kaweeda Adams and family, Soror Flora Shaffer, Mrs. Ruby Rimmey, and Mr. and Mrs. George and Mildred Carrington.
    Soror Ethel announced Pearly, a play by the late Ossie Davis, would be performed November 18 - 20 at Holy Trinity AME Church. Invitations and letters were read for the following events: request for an ad for the 2006 Boule Souvenir Journal to be held in Detroit, Kappa Alpha Psi Annual Sweetheart Ball in San Bernardino, Delta Sigma Theta Deltaganza to be held on December 3,2005, and an advertisement to purchase sorority kente cloths. A letter was sent from the Chapter in recognition of Reverend and Mrs. Wasson of Holy Trinity AME Church. During the Executive Board meeting on October 19, a vote was held to purchase an advertisement honoring Soror E. Lavonne Lewis, Regional Director in the souvenir journal for the Kappa Alpha Psi Los Angeles Alumni Chapter Black & White Ball.
    Soror Verlia Davis-Hoggard moved to have the chapter purchase a full page advertisement at the price of $325 + $10 for a picture to be displayed in the 62nd Boule souvenir journal. Soror Bertha Pendleton seconded the motion. The motion passed.
    Soror Verlia Davis-Hoggard moved to purchase a full page advertisement at the price of $150 to be displayed in the Deltaganza 2005 Holiday Fantasy souvenir journal. Soror Wilhelmina Lee seconded the motion. The motion passed.
    FOUNDATION FEASIBILITY COMMITTEE: Soror Sonya Horsford and Soror Tisha Johnson presented a proposal to establish the 20 Pearls Foundation. A power point presentation was viewed and handouts of the presentation were distributed to the chapter. Discussion regarding the proposal and formation of the 20 Pearls Foundation was held.
    Soror Betty Bell moved to establish the 20 Pearls with the structure to be refined prior to the foundation’s commencement. Soror Kaweeda Adams seconded the motion. Discussion was held. The motion passed.
    HODEGOS. Soror Quin Rivers recognized visiting sorors to the meeting: Soror Erica Johnson has decided to reactivate and Soror Carrie Peery is transferring to Theta Theta Omega. Soror Quin announced a card was sent to Soror Flora Shaffer’s family expressing condolences tor the loss of her grand-daughter. Get Well wishes were sent to Soror Darlene Hancock after her knee surgery. Soror Shirley Carroll was welcomed back.
    Sorors with November Birthdays were recognized. Sorors and Honey-dos with November Anniversaries were recognized. A survey was distributed to assist the Hodegos in preparing the hostesses for 2006. The December Christmas luncheon will be catered and sorors will decorate tables.

    GRADUATE ADVISOR: Soror Donnyss Rucker recognized the 9 Task Force members and 7 Kappa Xi members present at the meeting. 2 Kappa Xi members attended Cluster in Salt Lake City, UT. Soror Megan Jackson was recognized for being on the Dean’s List this semester.
    The Task Force members attended the Fall 2006 Rush. There were 2 qualified candidates for membership at Rush MIP will be held November 18-20. The cost to attend the luncheon is $35/soror.

    This year will be the 30lh Anniversary of Kappa Xi’s charter at UNLV. Kappa Xi will host a celebration and has asked members of Theta Theta Omega to assist with the planning and preparation.
    STANDING COMMITTEE REPORTS
    PROGRAM: Soror Barbara McCants-Hill presented the Program report for 2006. Soror Barbara encouraged all sorors to
    participate in Ivy Reading Academy held at Wendell Williams Elementary School at 2:30 pm on Wednesday afternoons. National Family Volunteerism Day will be held on November 19. The proposed format for Founder’s Day 2006 was discussed.
    OPERATIONS: Soror Edna Stated reported she met with the Bylaws committee, met with the Founder’s Day committee, attended the Theta Theta Omega Executive Board meeting, attended the Inter-mountain Cluster in Salt Lake City, UT, and met with the Membership committee. Soror Edna disseminated the 2006 Committee Participation forms to the members in attendance at the meeting.
    WAYS AND MEANS: Soror Diane Stith reported the Tournament of Games will be held on November 19 from 12:00 pm
    to 4:00 pm at the Doolittle Community Center. Lunch will be served for all those who purchased tickets for the event. Flyers were distributed at the meeting. Tickets for the event were distributed by mail and at the meeting. Soror Diane requested all Sorors wear their camp shirts. Shirts were also available for purchase at the meeting.
    Soror Peggy Selma distributed “Save the Date” announcements, honoree nomination forms, formal invitation distribution lists, souvenir journal ad forms, and committee sign-up sheets at the meeting. The ticket price will be $75/person.
    STANDARDS: Soror Jackie Brown distributed the mid-year survey results. The next Standards meeting will be held on
    November 29 at the home of Soror Jackie Brown. At this meeting the committee will establish the 2006 Chapter Goals.
    Soror Nadine Reid-Hill moved to accept the report as presented by Soror Jackie. Soror Ethel Archibald seconded the motion. The motion passed.
    NOMINATIONS: Soror Billie Rayford announced the results of the 2006 Officers Elections:

    BYLAWS COMMITTEE: Soror Ouida Brown presented the first reading of the proposed Chapter Bylaws changes. Committee members were recognized for their hard work and efforts. Discussion was held regarding the reading of the proposed changes.
    Soror Bertha Pendleton moved to accept the Bylaws as presented by the committee with forgiveness of the grammatical errors as the first reading. Soror Peggy Selma seconded the motion. Discussion was held. 29 voted yes, 13 voted no, and 2 abstained.
    Soror Billie asked for chapter approval to request an extension from the Regional Director to present the Bylaws.
    SPEC1AL/AD-H0C COMMITTEES
    TTO FOUNDATION STUDY: See report above.
    ARTS & HUMANITIES: No report.
    FOUNDERS DAY 2006: Soror Barbara Kirkland reported the following proposals from the committee:
    Proposed Dates: January 28, February 11, or February 18
    Proposed Place: CCSN West Charleston or Cheyenne Campus
    Proposed Time: 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm
    Proposed Theme: Fulfilling the Vision of Our Founders
    Proposed Attire: Sorors wear all white or all black with pearls
    The proposed brochure and event program were discussed. Soror Peggy Selma moved to accept the proposal from the committee with a budget of $1200 for the event. Soror Ethel Archibald seconded the motion. Discussion was held. The motion passed.
    Soror Barbara McCants-Hill passed out sign-up sheets to be members of the choir and performance.
    AKATEENS: No Report.
    IVY READING ACADEMY: Soror Jackie Caffey thanked sorors for their hard work, efforts, and donations with public acknowledgement in the meeting. Soror Jackie recognized Soror E. Lavonne Lewis and Soror Lois Bolden for their $100 donations, Soror Donnyss Rucker for her $50 donation, and Soror Brenda Taylor and Soror Verlia Davis-Hoggard for their book donations.
    HEALTH/NBLIC: Soror Dorothy Johnson recognized all cancer survivors as October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. She also requested those sorors who are cancer survivors participate in the Witness Program.
    BLACK FAMILY: Soror Ina Dorman thanked sorors for their donations to promote the Ladies Day Out “Coats for Kids” drive held September 21 - October 22, 2005. Soror Ina requested sorors bring additional coats for the drive.

    Soror Billie Rayford reported the “Sisterly Yours” committee proposal will be presented at the December meeting.
