EAF Report
In 2001, EAF gave three levels of recognition for EAF contributions: Bacheloreate, Masters and Doctoral.
In 2001, TTO Chapter submitted 100% membership dues @ $10.00 per member, and made the Chapter contribution, (money over and above the membership dues based on Chapter size.) Additionally, In 2001, Soror Carolyn Parks made a $1,000 donation (matching funds) to the EAF through her place of employment. This donation made her a “Woman of Excellence.” She received an etched plaque, received recognition at Regional and was listed in the Annual Report in the “Ivy Leaf Magazine.” Her contribution counted overall not only personally but toward the overall Chapter Achievement, giving us Doctoral Level Status.
In 2002, the Chapter was not recognized because we made no contribution to the EAF through membership dues or Chapter contribution before the Regional conference. (At a later date the Chapter remitted the membership dues.) This was, however, too late for recognition. Alas, we did not even get a GED.
In 2003, EAF rewards four levels of EAF achievement: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum.
In 2003 TTO Chapter has accomplished the following steps to excellence:
•
Submitted 100% membership report (Bronze level) allowing TTO to be listed in the Regional “Alert” and recognized at Regional Conference and I or EAF event. (But we can do more.)
•
In addition we have submitted our contribution of $200 based on Chapter size. (Silver level) allowing TTO to receive a certificate in addition to Bronze level recognition. (But we can do more.)
In order to receive Gold Status we must add on to the Bronze and Silver requirements by contributing an additional $500. This will allow TTO to include Bronze and Silver recognition, Plus have our status announced at Regional Conference.
(But we can do more.)
For TTO to achieve Platinum Level (see Campaign Recognition and Presentation Chart) we must achieve Bronze, Silver and Gold Level plus an additional Contribution of $1,000. (Platinum Level is equal in standing to the Doctoral level of the past.)
This will allow us all of the recognition of Bronze, Silver and Gold plus our lovely Baselius will be presented a special ribbon at the Regional Conference. At this level we will be back at the high level of achievement we vacated in 2002.
Sorors - WE CAN DO THIS!
Here’s the plan. After speaking with Soror Joyce Jenkins Jordan, Executive Secretary to EAF, the following was devised:
TTO Chapter Challenge:
Option 1: At least 10 Sorors give personal contributions of $100 commemorating, saluting, memorializing, honoring or celebrating a loved one. The Soror will have her name and the loved one’s name immortalized in the “Alert” magazine; and have her name read at the Regional Conference in Alaska.
Option 2: Spirit Challenge (Innovator) same as option 1 with the following addition ^ These Sorors will receive a special lapel pin and Certificate from the National EAF office along with being recognized in the “Alert” magazine and in the Ivy Leaf Magazine s Annual Report, coupled with recognition at the Regional Conference in Alaska.
Now although we love and revere our Basileus, the committee also knows our Sorors. So in addition to the above recognition each contribution of $100 or $250 will receive a lovely “I met my Chapter Challenge” ribbon to wear at the Regional Conference.
Now there are some of our sorors who may want to go one step further and be a Woman of Distinction” by donating $500 or a Woman of Excellence by donating $1,000 and receiving a special gift item and/or a specially etched plaque.
When I think of Theta Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. I think of wisdom, vision, accomplishment and work.
Because TTO is capable, worthy, reliable and firmly established.
TTO is sensible, sound, solid and skilled.
TTO can achieve, effect, execute and perform.
Now Sorors, we know we suffered a set back. For a moment we had to slow down, cut, and even sit down.
We needed to regroup.
We needed to regain
We needed to regrow.
But I’m here today to share that “set back doesn’t mean get back.
In 2001 we planted a magical seed.
There were clouds, but no rain.
There was wind, and terrible heat.
We left the soil uncared for unfilled, and unloved.
But we’ve regained our strength.
We’ve regained or hopes. Let’s regain our dreams.
We need to move on!
We need to move up!
We need to look toward the future of TTO and not tarry long in the past. We’re rejuvenated.
Because what you sow in love - you reap in Thanksgiving.
And when you work in joy - joy is your reward.
We have never shirked responsibility and we are not afraid to stretch.
We need a $500 contribution from the Chapter to take us to Gold. This we feel can come from the proceeds of the Mardi Gras Ball, and then the commitment of at least 10 Sorors to make a contribution of at least $100 to EAF in the name of a loved one.
And now that set back that was meant to be a get back, can turn into a jubilant come back!
And you know it’s time. Time for TTO.
Time for EAF.
And Sorors we need to take time.
We need to make time.
‘Cause it is time!
Time to come back to EAF!
Now some people do time.
Some people serve time.
Some people fill in the time.
But in good time we can recapture the time of our lives. Of course there is no time to waste. For once upon a time we were on top in EAF. Now we don’t need to kill time or waste time.
We must be on time (not CP time.)
We must seize the time.
The time is right.
The time is ripe.
(We won’t be held back.)
To turn our set back into a come back.
I move acceptance of my report.

Soror DonnyssRucker

EAF Report
At the March Meeting TTO Chapter accomplished the following steps to excellence:
•
Submitted 100% membership report (Bronze level) allowing TTO to be listed in the Regional Conference and/or EAF event.
•
TTO Chapter submitted our contribution of $200 (based on chapter size.) This is Silver level, allowing us to receive a certificate in addition to Bronze level recognition.
In addition, TTO Chapter received a Chapter check for $500 (Gold level.) This will allow TTO to include Bronze and Silver recognition PLUS have TTO’s status announced at Regional Conference.
Here is the most exciting news: TTO Chapter achieved PLATINUM LEVEL!!!
The requirement was to achieve Bronze, Silver and Gold Level PLUS and additional contribution of $1,000.
•
TTO Chapter had 14 members to contribute to EAF by accepting the EAF Challenge.
•
Fourteen Sorors contributed $100 each ($1400)
The Following Sorors Met the Spirit Challenge:
Sorors: Ethel Archibald
Jacqueline E. Brown
Dr. Gwendolyn Gates-Bartlett
Verlia M. Davis-Hoggard
Darlene Hancock
Patti Hester
Elsie Lavonne Lewis
Barbara J. McCants-Hill
Petsye Powell- Huyghue
Billie Knight Rayford
Quincella Rivers
Donnyss Rucker
Diane E. Stith
Minnie Alfred Stringfellow
One Soror, Soror Sandra Stewart Bass, met the spirit challenge as an innovator contributing $250. These selfless contribution yielded TTO a grand total OF $1,450.00!
WE HAVE ACHEIVED PLATINUM LEVEL (This is equal in standing to the Doctorate level of the past.) We are back at the high level of achievement we vacated in 2002.
TTO Chapter met and surpassed our Chapter Challenge. We achieved in both categories:
•
Option 1 suggested that 10 Sorors give a personal contribution of $100 commemorating, memorializing, honoring or celebrating a loved one.
•
TTO Chapter had fourteen Sorors in this option totaling $1400. Option 2: The Spirit Challenge (Innovator) suggested Sorors give a personal contribution of $250.
•
TTO Chapter had 1 Soror in the option, totaling $250. At this level, Sorors receive a special lapel pin and certificate from the National EAF office along with being recognized and the “Ivy Leaf’ magazine’s Annual Report. There will be special recognition of this level at the Leadership Conference, here in Las Vegas.
In 2001 We planted a magical seed. In 2003 We have tilled and cultivated a barren soil. We have pruned and grafted-perpetuating our rose. We have fed and nourished our seed. There is an old adage that says, “Bloom where you’re planted.” Alpha Kappa Alpha urged us to “Bloom” and unashamed our brilliant petals unfurled. We would like to recognize the fourteen Sorors who allowed TTO Chapter Bloom, and would like to present them with the garden watering can award.
There was one Soror who saw the planting and the tilling; the cultivating; blooming and the unfurling. This Soror saw the pumpkin but preferred the coach. We would like to recognize this Soror. With our Cinderella Soror award. Just because the clock strikes 12 doesn’t mean the party has to end. This Soror became EAF Innovator. She is Soror Sandra Stewart- Bass.
Since then we have had one additional Soror to increase her $100 donation by $150 and she has met the Spirit Challenge and is also an EAF Innovator. We would like to recognize our second Cinderella Soror: Soror Ethel Archibald.
Now, Sorors, they say it’s lonely at the top.
Sorors let’s give these Sorors a standing ovation.
We weathered the storm .
We stayed the course.
We stood the heat.
We stayed in the kitchen .
We regained our strength .
We regained our hopes .
We regained our dreams.
We are rejuvenated .
We did not shirk our responsibility .
We were not afraid to stretch.

In Carson City our Regional Director, Soror Diana Shipley applauded our efforts and offered us a challenge:
She asked us to join her and the Area in the quest for Top Small Region award.
She asked us to stretch for the spirit Challenge Innovator Status. By contributing $250 and by adding to our donation to total $250.
Turn to your Soror and say, “It’s Midnight But the Party’s not over yet.”
Fifteen Sorors heard the clarion call of EAF and rose to the occasion. They helped us to achieve our chapter goal and meet the challenge.
It is not too late, Sorors, to hook your wagon to a star TODAY!
It is not too late, Sorors, to contribute $250, meet Soror Shipley’s Challenge and be recognized at Leadership, here in Las Vegas as a Spirit Challenge Innovator-TODAY!
It is not too late, Sorors to add to your contribution to total $250: meet Soror Shipley’s challenge and be recognized at Leadership, here in Las Vegas as a Spirit Challenge Innovator-T OD A Y!
It is not too late, Sorors, to thank God for the Bounty that enables us to pass on the torch of Alpha Kappa Alpha through EAF and keep the spirit of AKA!
And lastly-
It is never too late, Sorors to say Thank you!
Thank you, beautiful Sorors of TTO, for your support and the support of this great Sorority challenge.

EAF Report
Theta Theta Omega Chapter
The EAF Committee Report should be entitled the “Phoenix Chronicles” because Theta Theta Omega truly rose from its own ashes to be a bird that took flight.
Our chapter report was the report given at the Regional Conference in Alaska,
Theta Theta Omega went from GED level in participation and giving, to Platinum level in one year.
Because of the Committee’s and the Chapter’s hard work, Theta Theta Omega Chapter received the “Best of the West” at the Regional Conference and catapulted our own Far West Region and Soror Diana Shipley, our Regional Director to receive the Best (Small Region Category) in the National EAF giving.
November is EAF awareness month.
