    “Twenty Pearls"
Day and night, night and day, We worked hard for AKA, And we finally became an AKA. An AKA, an AKA, an AKA, an AKA. And we finally became an AKA.
We ran errands all day long, Worked our fingers to the bone, And we finally became an AKA An AKA, an AKA, an AKA,an AKA. And we finally became an AKA.
Twenty Pearls, Twenty Pearls, Represent the Alpha Girls, And I'm proud to tell the world, “I've got my Pearls."

One with standards high as the tallest Tree is AKA.
I believe that through the years, come what may
There'll not be one -like AKA.
    AKA, AKA.
I believe there is no greater loyalty that one could know
And I'm sure there is no other way - that one could go.
Every time I see that pin with twenty Pearls
Or pink and green, I stop to say,

bear AKA, we come to thee united, With hearts of love and loyalty sublime.
The tie that binds our sisterhood together
Will e'er be true until the end of time. Tho we may roam afar to other fields of work.
Tho we may dwell in services untold. We'll always be a part of e'vry ivy leaf That grows a round the world of AKA.
Oh AKA, we'll love the name forever, Our love for you grows stronger day by day.
Our sisterhood, we'll cherish now and ever

When I thought about an author for the sixth edition, I wanted someone who knew Alpha Kappa Alpha and could transfer that knowledge into a powerful portrait of our Sisterhood. Earnestine McNealey’s knowledge of and experience with Alpha Kappa Alpha made her a natural.
    - LINDA M. WHITE, 26TH SUPREME BAST! FITS
Soror Earnestine Green McNealey has observed and witnessed Alpha Kappa Alpha’s leadership and programs at the national level for more than 30 years, serving as a Directorate member for six, Executive Director for five, Coordinator of Program Services and Communications for one, media consultant for eight, and national committee member for the past eight Supreme Basilei. She has also dialogued with founder Norma Boyd, 15 past Supreme Basilei, and all Executive Directors; and she was editor of the Ivy Leaf as a Directorate member, staff member, and contractor. She is the researcher, author, and/or producer of varied Alpha Kappa Alpha historical features, including “Alpha Kappa Alpha” and “Ethel Hedgeman Lyle” in Black Women in America.
Soror McNealey holds a Ph. D. in Communications (Rhetoric and Public Address) and the M. A. in Communications (Mass Media) from The Ohio State University (OSU); and a B. S. in Education (English) from Fort Valley State University (GA). The summa cum laude grad was a writing fellow at the acclaimed Poynter Institute for Media Studies, a T. Thomas Fortune (Journalism) Fellowship national finalist, and a research award winner at OSU.
