Graduate Advisor Report October 5, 2002The Undergraduates held their first meeting of the semester on August 15, 2002.There are eight girls currently active this semester. Four of them are seniors: Simone Tyree, Ashley Tisdale, Samaria Johnson-Williams, and Erin Dangerfield. At the beginning of the semester the undergrads had an Economic activity. They created a black business directory for the incoming Freshman^, that provide information on different businesses that were available in the city; such as beauty salons, barber shops, and fast food restaurants. They also attended the Orientation for the New Students. On September 25th, they hosted an Art showcase on the campus of UNLV, where different students displayed their various talents. There was a great turn out.On September 18, the Regional Director, under the leadership of the 26th Supreme Basileus, Soror Linda White sent out a letter concerning Undergraduate intake. Effective September 17, all undergraduates, membership intake will be suspended until the November Board meeting, There will be no approvals of either sorors or chapters who have been suspended being returned to active status until the November Board meeting at which the process will be reviewed. There will be no Rush or Intake activities in the Far Western Region for the Undergraduate Chapters only. The Graduate Chapters are not affected by this decision. It was recommended that they spend time on chapter retreats, cluster, and finding ways to implement “The Spirit of Alpha Kappa Alpha.”The next Undergraduate meeting will be held on Sunday, October 13th, at 4pm.Respectfully SubmittedRhoda Y.
