Committee Report
January 8, 2000
January 15, 2000 is the MLK Parade. For the third year, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. will participate in the festivities!! This year however, our Chair will not be present for the decorating of the float or the parade. Therefore, I must call upon those 20 Sorors who have volunteered to participate in the decorating and participating of the float to step up and act as the 2000 MLK Float Chair. I have outlined the most critical functions that are necessary to be carried through, and I will be of assistance until January 13, 2000.
The following is a list of things to be done on Friday, January 14, 2000:
1.
Pick up the float truck @ Ahem Rentals 1785 Bonanza Rd/MLK Blvd.
Telephone #: (702). 648-6212.
2.
Bring truck to Soror Barbara Kirkland’s home.
3.
Coordinate time to begin decorating.
4.
Drop off truck immediately following parade.
I will reserve the truck on my credit card, but I will need the name of the volunteer/authorized truck driver to pick up the truck on the 14th and drop off on the 15 . I will also purchase any additional decorations needed (i.e. balloons, truck skirts etc.). However, if a Soror whom is employed with the school district is able to obtain the large rolls of paper, this will decrease the decoration expense.
If you have any questions, please DO NOT E-MAIL ME!!! I am terrible in reading mail daily, so I would most likely not receive the message for days. I STRONGLY URGE YOU TO CALL MY HOME #631-0077 or my cellular phone #281-4212.
Respectfully submitted,Soror Lisa Russell
