Darlena Gunn current Basileus of Kappa Xi was selected to present at the Regional Conference in Seattle, Washington and did an outstanding job.
Ina Dorman, Carolyn Parks, and myself attended and successfully completed the Graduate Advisor's Training. I also received an award for serving as the Graduate Advisor.
I was proud to express during the Graduate Advisor's Roundtable that the four members of Kappa Xi were a wonderful group to work with and that the young ladies worked very hard to conduct the business of the chapter. We are fortunate that we don't have the problems or issues the other advisor's are facing.

    GRADUATE ADVISOR’S REPORT
    NOVEMBER 1, 1997
The undergraduates had an informal rap session to discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the chapter, how to reactive inactive sorors, and solutions to problems. The discussion was productive, and we came away with some positive ideas.
Three members of Kappa Xi participated in “Leader Shop”, a seminar designed to increase and enhance leadership capabilities. The workshop was held on the campus of UNLV.
Kappa Xi had nominations in October for elections in November for officers for the 1998 school Year.
The Basileus from Kappa Xi represented Alpha Kappa Alpha on the show “Community Matters” on channel 10. The show was about fraternities and sororities on the campus of UNLV.
In order to assist in bridging the gap between undergraduates and graduates and to encourage affiliating with a graduate chapter upon graduation, members of Kappa Xi participated in the graduate chapter MTP workshop at one of their first October meeting. The workshop was conducted by soror Carolyn Parks..
Undergraduate Round-up has been tentatively scheduled for February 7, 1998 by Far Western Regional Director, Grace B Strauther. Rooms have been reserved on the campus of UNLV for the workshops. The undergraduates are checking into hotel availability and prices.
The Anti-basileus of Kappa Xi resigned with approximately six weeks left in her term due to personal problems.
Today from 11:00 until 3:00, we served as volunteers with the Big Brothers and Big Sisters Program at their annual picnic.
