FOUNDERS’ DAY THANKS
Thank you to ail participants and Sorors for a spectacular
88th Founders Day Celebration. We all enjoyed the
address by Soror Archalene Martin and the remarks by
Soror Cornelia Banks. This event was a tremendous
success. I thank you for the sisterly love and support you
gave while I chaired this 1996 activity. Continue to let
your light shine.

SORORITY POTPOURRI
AKA Kudos to Soror Dorothy Johnson for receiving the
Prestigious Thelma Tyree Award at the 1996 Founders’
Day Luncheon. Congratulations Dorothy!
The March Executive Committee meeting is scheduled
for Wednesday, March 20th, 7.00 p.m., at the home of
Soror Shimice Villano.
The “Theta Theta Omega Get Together" is scheduled for
Saturday, March 30,1996, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at
toe Alexis Park Hotel. See Soror Betty Orr for details.
The 1996 Regional Conference will be held May 3rd
through May 5th in Los Angeles California at the Sheraton
Hotel located next to the LAX Airport. "Step" practice for
this event will begin this month. See Belisa Brownly for
details.
Gear up for Black Dollar Day in April. Barbara Kirkland
wil spearhead this activity.
The month of April is Black Minority Cancer month. The
NBLIC in conjunction with the American Cancer Society
will be hosting a Public Health Program Saturday, April
20th at the West Las Vegas Library from 1.00 p m to
4:00 p.m..
UPCOMING COMMUNITY EVENTS
The Original Drifters will be performing Tuesday,
March 19 at 7:00 p.m. at toe Clark County Library Theater
to benefit toe “Help them Walk Again” and the Miss Black
Teenage Nevada Scholarship Program. Tickets are
$20.00. Contact Maxine Porter at 642-2300 for more
information.
Gamma Phi Delta/ Alpha Rho Chapter is sponsoring
The Ebony Fashion Fair Sunday, March 31st at 7:00 p.m.,
at the Flamingo Hilton Hotel. Tickets are $30.00 for
reserved seating and $20.00 for regular seating. For

These are exciting times for our chapter, Regional
Conference is right around the corner. I’m so please
to let all Sorors know that Theta Theta Omega
Chapter will have more than twenty Sorors in

Our "Sisterly Get Together " was so much fun this
past week, we must do it again real soon.

Soror Dorothy Johnson has been chosen one of fifteen
recipients to be awarded a “Las Vegas Association of
Black Journalist Unsung Heroes Award" for uplifting the
African American community through her work with the
National Black Leadership Initiative on Cancer (NBLIC).
On May 11,1996, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., a formal
ceremony, including refreshments, music and live
entertainment will be held at the West Las Vegas Library
Theater. Cost of tickets are $15.00 for General
Admission, $10.00 for Students and Seniors, and $20.00
for VIP’s.
Soror Lois Bolden’s daugther, Carol was married
March 23rd in Washington, D.C. Congratulations!
The March Executive Committee meeting is scheduled
for Wednesday, April 17th , 7:00 p.m., at the home of
Soror Jacki Brown 456-7860.
We should really be supporting our Black owned
Businesses this month. Soror Barbara will have more
information on Black Dollar Days at the upcoming Sorority
meeting.

PRAYER CORNER
Remember Soror Lavonne Lewis and
family in your prayers during the illness
of her father.
Soror Mary Ann Lewis will be undergoing surgery soon, so
keep her in your prayers.
Soror Myrtle Moore and Honey-Do, are moving back to
Michigan due to Honey-Do ‘s health. Soror Myrlte would
love to hear from everyone, so please keep them in mind.
