    Executive ’Committee Meeting - 'Minutes
    March 18, 1992
    The meeting was called to order by the Basileus, Soror Ouida . Brown, at 7:05 P.M. at West Las Vegas Public Library. Minutes of previous meeting were not available due to the absence of the Crammateus, Soror Sybil Johnson.
    Reports were offered.
    Tamiouchos: Soror Dorothy Johnson reported a correction for
    March 1, stating Balance on Hand
    Pecunious Grammateuss Soror Lillian Gates reported 25 sorors are paid in full at this point. Their names were read. It was questioned whether there is a late fee for those wjg/h| have not met all obligations. The Basileus said, "No, we will not charge, but Financial Cards will not be issued until all debts are paid."

    MOTION byADorothy Johnson and seconded by Soror Willa White that the Pecunious Grammateus should write those sorors who have paid only per capita tax stating they are beig held responsible for all dues which was accountable by March 1, 1992, and we must have the balance by the next meeting. ALL were in favor.
    Seventeen members are paid for E.A.F.
    Hodegos: Soror Lois Bolden reported for April birthday cards will be sent to Thelma Tyree and Newman;, Anniversary card to SOror Willa White. Hospitality met and decided to send a plant to YVonne Atkinson Gates, Sunshine Fund Balance is $10.50. She will keep a running balance also. The Basileus informed the Hodegos she is to check on hostesses for each meeting and Executive Committee Meeting.

    Graduate Advisor: Soror Jo Ann Weddle reported that Saturday they had a Rush. Paper work was sent for three candidates. That will put us out of danger with seven.
    Basileus: Soror Ouida Brown asked if all had received the materials from Soror Billie Jean Barrett re 62nd Far Western Regional Conference. All affirmed except Soror Maxine Randolph who had not received. Soror Brown called the Supreme Basileus and she confirmed we do not have to send remaining HAANyMTH to Soror Billie Jean Barrett. As stated the Balance is to be divided with | to E.A.F., and the other to go to Theta Theta Omqga Scholarship Fund and Trust Account.
    Soror Margaret Crawford states Soror Barrett is making up these figures. No bills were submitted originally.
    Letter was sent from Soror Sylvia Speed to Soror Barrett requesting receipts of reimbursements for sorors.
    MOTION by Soror Dorothy Johnson and seconded by Soror White that we reimburse the two sorors on the Directorate: Soror Martha Perine - Soror Vert ell e Middleton - ALL were opposed.
    Motion failed. Only a statement will be sent to Soror Barrett how the money was allocated and disbursed.
    Soror Penny Toney reported.the Minutes of the Conference had been mailed by over night mail - to the Supreme Basileus and Regional Director. Also they had been shipped. ‘Expenses thus far totalled WvkMH-W. The Basileus commended Soror Toney for a job well done. Thanks was extended from Basileus and Soror Margaret Crawford. Soror Toney wants to be reminded never again; it was a monumental job. Soror Crawford states some Minutes of the Regional are missing because Soror Barrett took them.

    have been given to the West Las Vegas Public Library. The Librarian informed that Theta Theta Omega should buy a stamp which states we donated the books to the Library and each book should be so stamped.
    MOTION by Soror White and seconded by Soror Greta Mills that we purchase a stamp and stamp the books for the Library collection. ALL in favor.
    The Basileus informed those present "Black Dollar Days" are coming up in April and we should participate. Soror Crawford will check with the Committee and be prepared for April meeting.
    By-laws: Soror Willa White got the feeling the quizzes are liked and will continue. ■ One soror (Crawford) thinks it a waste of time.
    Job Corp.: Soror Dorothy Johnson requested that each Soror should bring a pair of white cotton socks for male or female to the April meeting.
    Water Days Soror Brown will call Soror Barbara Kirkland to see when we can get to Shade Tree Center to present $1^0.00 which has been allocated.
    The Arts r Soror Maxine Randolph made oral report of possible scheduled events. Soror White mentioned a group of black students at YMCA who have a program on drugs. Soror Brown suggested Soror Dorothy Johnson could use this for Health Committee. She will investigate. Soror White will get her the telephone number.
    Soror Johnson stated the Health Committee will meet briefly after regular meeting. She asked that Soror Brown include in meeting notice.
    Sorer
    Soror Johnson should coordinate Sor^o) Sylvia Speed’s recommendation as part of Health Committee.
    African Village Project! Material was turned over to Soror Greta Mills and asked to get something going. She consented.

    Soror Dorothy Johnson reported that the Chapter will he bonded.
    The Bonding Company application submitted for a $20,000.00 bonding.
    All officers of the group will be bonded at a cost of $198.00. A
    letter has been sent to the Bonding Company and we are awaiting a
    reply.

    THETA THETA OMEGA CHAPTER EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING - MINUTES
    April 15, 1992
    The meeting was called to order at the home of Soror Jo Ann Weddle at 7:25 P.M. It was necessary to wait for a quorum. It was noted Soror Dorothy Johnson had called that she was unable to make the meeting.
    One correction was noted - Soror Ouida Brown reported Black children books have been given to West Las Vegas Public Library.
    Soror Brown picked up stamp which states "Donated by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Theta Theta Omega Chapter, Las Vegas, NV." She reported all books have been duly stamped and the chapter owes her AyAvHT.
    Graduate Advisors Soror Weddle reported three candidates have been approved. Kappa Xi Joint Meeting will be held April 2^-25-26.
    African Village: Soror Brown will see what she can pick up at the Regional Conference.
    Black Dollar Days: Record should be kept of expenditures with Black businesses for the whole month of April and should be turned in at the May meeting.

    May 27, 1992
    The meeting was called to order by the Basileus, Soror Ouida Brown at ?:05 P.M. at the home of Soror Greta Mills. Opening was recitation of Pledge and a Bible reading from Psalms.
    Tamiouchuss Soror Dorothy Johnson reported she has received Soror Thelma Tyree's membership card. She reported a Balance of MSN plus the CD making total assets The Basileus complimented
    the Tamiouchus on fantastic job.
    Pecunious Grammateus: Soror Lillian Gates reported 30 sorors are now financial.
    Epistoleus: Soror Loveda Minley read various correspondence. The Headquarters announced it will be shutdown until September 1st because of voluminous work in connection with Boule. The letter was received from Supreme Basileus Soror Mary Shy Scott re Regional. All sorors should have received copies. Letter from Far Western Regional Director requesting pictures or history of when Kappa Xi started.
    Hodogoss Soror Lois Bolden was absent, but sent a report stating total money collectedchMMVPk Balance in account Soror
    Johnson questioned Soror Bolden's figures. It was suggested the two of them get together.
    Graduate Advisors Soror Jo Ann Weddle reported Soror Connie Burrell is graduating. Six now active. We must have seven.
    Basileus requested that Soror Myrtle Moore be responsible for a monthly tally of members present at meetings.

    3 P.M. Sunday, May 31. Three girls will receive Scholarship Awards from our Chapter. All Sorors are encouraged to attend. The recipients should be called individually. Girls should arrive at 2-30 P.M. Those sorors who will assist should also be there by 2-30 P.M.
    Publicity- Soror Willa White will be away most of the summer, so anyone else should be responsible for taking pictures. She has black and white film.
    LAP- Soror Minley will be calling Soror Gates sometime this week to get all the names of sorors who have contributed.
    Shade Tree - Water Days Soror White reported she and Soror Barbara Kirkland went in time to see people at the residence. A check for $155.00 was donated. It is a very worthwhile project.
    Health Concerns - Soror Johnson has prepared a News Release on our Chapter joining in the "Do the Right Thing" Campaign. She has requested from the National Institute of Cancer 200 posters and pamphletts.
    Strengthening the Black Family: Soror White has nothing to report since Water Day activity. She will have to meet with her group. She urged Sorors to bring family activity material to the June meeting.
    Memberships Soror Brown stated the Committee met three weeks ago.
    Names of prospective candidates should be sent by July 10, to Soror Jackie Hall and Millicent . August 7, a Summer Cooler will
    be held at Soror Carol Threats at 7-00 P.M. September 12, Sorors vote on Prospective Candidates. October 30-31-November 1, Membership Intake scheduled. Initiation fee is HSStz-qSKH Sponsor Soror should submit three letters of active sorors of recommendation. This must be done before Standards Committee comes November 1. Soror Minley has

    Basileus requests that all Committee Chairpersons meet with her
    at 2 P.M. prior to regularly scheduled June Meeting.
    Written reports are needed from delegates to Regional.
    Basileus wants to make certain that all committee workshops are
    attended at Boule. All bases must be covered on all Chapter operations.
    Meeting adjourned at 8:05 P.M. with the singing of the Hymn.

    EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING - Minutes
    June 17, 1992
    The meeting was called to order promptly at 7 P.M. at the home of Soror Dorothy Johnson by the Basileus, Soror Ouida Brown. Due to the tardiness of the Grammateus, Soror Greta Mills, the Minutes were read upon arrival; and were approved.
    The Tamiouchos Soror Johnson reported a balance of HLLHr-V; a full report is attached.
    Job Corps Soror Johnson stated this Committee will meet sometime before September to decide what will go into Christmas box.
    Standards Committees Soror LaVonne Lewis reported the Committee has not met to complete evaluations for May and June. They will meet early in July to get it off.
    Audit Committees Soror Lewis’ report is attached. A motion was offered by Soror Lewis that the Books be taken to the C.P.A. Jerry Lockhart for review. All in favor.
    Blac-tivitiess Soror Lewis reported this Committee is in process of getting a mailing to Sorors.
    Dances Soror Lewis reported tickets will be mailed by July. Committee recommends that each soror be responsible for ten tickets. Soror Myrtle Moore recommended that each soror be responsible for five tickets. It was urged that the Committee meet and get all expectations in writing. The younger members are reported to be very enthusiastic. Tamiouchos recommends the Committee set a budget for
    Expenses expected to be $75-00 for room at Emerald Inn;

    $200.00 for a Disc Jockey; Kinko will print tickets on hard stock. It was urged that publicity quickly be enacted before Omega Psi Phi uses same date although they did not have a dance last year. Announcements should be sent to all organizations.
    Programs Soror Margaret Crawford was urged to utilize month of July for planning for next year. Each Committee needs to meet this summer and invite Program Committee - Chairman or somen,member jbf Committee to attend. There should be some communication between Program Committee and various committees. In order to have good programming the Program Committee should be an Ex-Officio on all Committees.
    Fund Raising Committee: A chairperson is actively being sought for this committee.
    There was no new business.
    H Only announcement was a change in next Executive Board meeting date to Monday, July 13, because of conflict date of travel plan for Boule.

    THETA THETA OMESJA CHAPTER EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING Minutes ' July 13, 1992
    The meeting was called to order promptly at 7 0!clock in the : evening at the home of^ Soror Myrtle Moore. Those present were: Soror s' Ouida Brown, ..Lillian Gates, Dorothy Johnson, Loveda Minley, Myrtle Moore, Jo Ann Weddle, ’and Greta Mills'. 1
    The Lord’s Prayer and Pledge were recited.
    Minutes of the June 17, meeting were read and approved.
    Reports of officers followed.
    Tamioi^chos: Soror Johnson had no report. The Books are being audited. No money has been taken out since last Executive Committee meeting. Membership card for Soror Millicent Dillworth was received; it was given to Soror Gates.
    Pecunious Grammateus: Soror Gates reported receiving nch/M was for 50/50.
    Correspondence was read by Soror Minley. She reported receiving notice of Post Office Box being overdue. She paid, and needs a voucher. Soror Brown stated it is best to pay in June to avoid lateness.
    Hodegoss Soror Lois Bolden was absent. Cards were sent for birthdays and anniversaries for July. It was stated Dr. Norma Porter who is inactive this year is confined to the Southern Nevada Rehabilitation Center recuperating from a stroke. It was requested a card be sent.
    Graduate Advisor: Sor, Weddle had no report. The Basileus advised Soror Weddle she is to attend a half day workshop on Saturday at the Boule. Soror Weddle insisted she is certified, and. it is not necessary to attend again. Soror Brown states the Chapter will reJuly

    Philacter: Soror Moore had no report. She stated Bernice Marshall is a new member who is very anxious to become active,.
    EAF: Soror Minley had no report.
    Job Corp:• Soror Johnson received a letter of thanks from Cleveland Job Corp for the gift of socks. Her intention is to send an extra special box for Christmas; the plan is that they get it together in late October or early November.
    4 Health Concerns: Soror Johnson stated it is very difficult to get the Committee to meet in the summer. She has asked Soror Lois Ice to join on Health'; Care Committee, because of her wealth of medical contacts. A possible program would be having a speaker for a meeting at the Library-. The Basileus accepted this as an excellent igtea and advised Chairman, "to go for it." .
    COIP: Soror Moore had no report.
    African Village: Soror Mills had no report other than to state a letter had been written to Mr. Melvin Foote at Africare requesting information. It is hoped a response will be received and the Committee will meet by September.
    Standards and Membership. Soror LaVonne Lewis unable to be present but sent a report which is filed.
    Auditing: The records for the last two years and up to last six months have been given to auditor; Soror Lewis has been unable to contact. Soror Lewis is leaving for two week vacation. It was suggested that Soror Johnson check with Soror Lewis and if she.has been unable to contact Auditor, Soror Johnson should follow through.
    Founders’ Day: Soror Moore' stated the Committee will meet by
    September, but at this time no report. The .thoughts are for an open
    July 13. 1992
    meeting for Founders' Day during Valentine’s Week. It was recommended
    by Soror Johnson that if invitations are sent, on?be extended to
    Mayor Jan Jones.

    ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA SORORITY THETA THETA OMEGA CHAPTER MEMBER SHIP REPORT JULY 13, 1992
    THE MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE MET ON JUNE IS, 1992 AT THE HOME OF THE CHAIRPERSON. MEMBERS PRESENT WERE SORORS CAROL THREATS, WILLA WHITE, MILLIE DILWORTH, BARBARA KIRKLAND, JOANNE WEDDLE, JACKIE HALL, OUI DA BROWN AND THE CHAIR. THE BUDGET FOR THE MEMBERSHIP DANCE TO BE HELD ON SEPTEMBER 5, 1992 WAS DEVELOPED AND APPROVED.
    THE DATES FOR SUBMISSION OF NEW MEMBERS HAD BEEN APPROVED AT THE LAST MEETING AND THESE WERE FURTHER REFINED.
    A MEET WILL BE HELD ON JULY 16, 1992 AT THE HOME OF SOROR LEWIS TO REVIEW THE NOMINEES SUBMITTD FOR MEMBERSHIP AND CONDUCT THE EVALUATION. INVITATIONS AND TICKETS FOR THE DANCE WILL BE STUFFED AND MAILED AFTER THAT MEETING.

    Executive Board Meeting - August 19, 1992
    Attendance: Ouida Brown, Lillian Gates, Dorothy Johnson, Loveda Minley, Maxine Randolph, “Jo Ann Weddle, Willa White, and Greta Mills.
    Soror Myrtle Moore reported absence to Grammateus.
    Soror Margaret Crawford called hostess.
    The meeting -Was sailed to.order at 7 P.M. at the home of Soror Maxine Randolph. Prayer was offered by Soror White. Minutes of the July 13^meeting were read and stand approved.
    It was stated the Supreme Basileu§ called and said she and Soror Norma White will be at the Las Vegas Hilton on October 16- 17-18, 1992.
    Tamiouchos: Questions,were raised on the audit. The Tamiou- chos reported since she has no books she is unable to report. Soror Brown will pick up the books tomorrow. MOTION by Soror White that we pay for audit that has been conducted. This motion was seconded by Soror Randolph. All in favor.
    Pecunious Grammateus: Soror Gates had no report.
    Epistoleus: Correspondence was read.

    NAACP - October 2^, Bally Grand Hotel request for ad in Journal. This should be taken to the regular meeting and vote on taking an ad in the Souvenir Journal.
    MOTION by Soror Weddle recommending that we should try to take an ad in the NAACP Souvenir Journal. All in favor.

    Letter from Headquarters stating Nationwide A.K.A. voter registration day - August 29. Soror White can't be there, but would chair drive. Soror Minley will work. Eoror Johnson will work also. A Questionnaire must be filed with Headquarters. Soror Minley in charge.

    National Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression. Manpower and money are needed.
    MOTION by Soror White and seconded by Soror Weddle that individual sorors take a look anto and decide whether they want to take a personal stand. All in favor.
    (^) Letter from Michelle DuPree who wants to know about scholarship. Soror Weddle will call her.
    Hodegos: Although Soror Lois Bolden was absent she sent her report announcing July and August Birthdays. Soror White thinks

    cards being sent are not representative. The Basileus will talk to Soror Bolden.
    Graduate Advisor: Soror Weddle reported there was a Graduation at the Boule and those graduate advisors who participated in the Conference received diplomas. Next summer the Leadership Conference will be held in Atlanta.
    Publicity: Soror White has many pictures but nothing has been written. If anyone has photos on Black Family Strengthening, send to Willa and she will prepare for September meeting.
    The Basileus suggested Soror Minley put this in Newsletter; also she should check with Grammateus for other necessary additions.
    COIP: Boule has stipulated that all new Graduate members must pay ^g^^saipon entering the Chapter.
    j* Fund Raising: There should be a second account. Any such activity income must be given back to Community. Deadline must be set and followed for all monies to be collected.
    •x MOTION by Soror Johnson and seconded by Soror Gates that Labor Day Bash complete report be made by October meeting. All in favor. This recommendation should be in the Newsletter.

    Alpha Kappa Alpha which began in June has been outstanding. Great
    participation between parents, children, and Sorors. She recommends we continue to support. Shelley Davis, a student at Spellman
    College, has been there every Wednesday.

    Announcementsr
    Amendment to By-Laws: Dues must be paid by first meeting in January and must be postmarked by February 1. Sorors must be informed by reproducing complete By-Laws or bring copies with you to meeting. Soror Minley should include this also.
    Delegates must have reports of Boule in writing at September meeting.
    Boule tentative future dates are 199^ - Indianapolis; 1996 - Baltimore; 1998 - San Francisco (or Washington, D.C.); 2000 - Dallas.
