My dearest Mary.
I feel almost ashamed to think that over a week has passed since I received your letter and lovely present. I received the parcel and letter also, on Christ- -mas morning and we were all so pleasantly surprised , I thank you for my beautiful handker- -chief box and Mama and the girls send their thanks for their lovely presents.
Every day since Christmas we have had company so we have been quite busy - I am working in the office and some evenings

History and it is very interesting.
Alice Findlay is still in Ogden, but she is not working. I have not called on her for a long, long time so I know very little about here. It seems so strange that she can content herself away from home and not be employed.
She surely can not think very much of her home.
Dear Mary, you do not know how many time we have spoken of you during the holidays. So often we would say "Just a year ago, Mary Syphus was with us," and we would have been so glad could you have been with us this year. We passed the holidays quietly so far as dancing is concerned, as none of "us girls" dance, Christmas night we went to an Opera and New Years night I spent the evening with some friends. We
