    Dear Friend:-
    line
    5
    Your favor was duly received
    line
    6
and I take great pleasure in writing
    line
    7
    a few lines in reply.
    line
    8
I am thankful to say that
    line
    9
my eyes are quite well again. I

only one day and part of another

but I went to school with my les-

    My sight was not effected

by getting so homesick but there may
    line
    16
be truth in the last assertion you
    line
    17
made. I do get the blues sometimes
    line
    18
though, but I have felt bad enough

I am getting almost wild to go home now the time is so near nd yet so far. I am thinking so fast I get all mixed up. Wish I could talk with you to-day instead of trying to write.
We haven't had school since Wednesday but still I haven't my lessons, prepared for to-morrow. I have been ironing and sewing and trying to study up back lessons. We have three compositions for Rhetoric in the morning, two written and one oral so I know how to sympathize with composition writters. I have been to Sunday school and church too to-day and I have enjoyed both so much. In fact, I have re-resolved to be good. Vosen't that astonish you? Ry the by, I believe you abked me some questions. No, I don't think Ann has made a mash yet. I believe I would have heard of it if she had for she still talks sometimes.

Of course I didn't tell Nellie that
    line 8
afraid you read her letters. I am / she would not write any more if I did.
A young lady from Pinto, who is attending school here, says that Nellie is keeping company with her old beau again, one she gave the bounce several years ago. I wrote to her about it but she has not answered my letter yet so I suppose she does not intend to tell me.
I suppose you have fine times coasting. Hope you do at least. , , know, . ,
I don t / which is worse crushing a young ladie’s foot or falling over a rail. I almost believe I would prefer the latter though. It seems to me winter is going to last forever up in this country. I'll take the sweet sunny south. There has been a regular blizard down home though. Pa said the snows drifted four or five feet deep in places.
Harry was in Panaca when he wrote last but was going right
