V ’/• Las Vegas - October 14, 1948 W 2>1-C S Mr. Wm. Reinhardt: Your letter October 12th, regarding water withdrawals from the underground channel: I had reference to the total withdrawals and not merely the amount used by the Water Company. Attached Is copy of withdrawals by years, compiled by the State Engineer's office. He estimates the total recharge to the southern part of Las Vegas Valley to be 30,000 * acre-feet annually, and when it was found that the withdrawals exceeded this figure In 1946j it was thought that there was cause for alarm, especially If the withdrawals continued to increase in proportion. However, the 194? figures indicate a alight decrease, although still in excess of the estimated recharge rate*;. A. M. Folger
