I agree.Maguire informs that Bracken was planning on using surplus water from the new artesian well to irrigate land on the Las Vegas Ranch.

OCT 31 1924 Water Rights - New Artesian Well near Big Springs...... File 20-6-2 Los Angeles, October 30, 1924. Mr. F. H. Knickerbocker: Your letter of October 27th to Mr. Halsted, with ref-erence to water rights at Las Vegas: It is my understanding Mr. Bracken is planning to place about 75 acres of our land under cultivation at Las Vegas, using the surplus water for irrigation and in this manner protect our rights. During my visit at Las Vegas a few days ago, I discussed this with Mr. Bracken and he had drafted a letter to you outlining what he had in mind.
