Las Vegas - pipe lines Los Angeles, April 25, 1917 Chief Engineer, Los Angeles: Referring to our recent trip to Las Vegas in regard to the various pipe jobs: I attach herewith rough pencil sketches showing the outlets in the new sixteen inch line; also for the new six inch coach line, and for the proposes work at the power house to accommodate the boiler washing plant. If we have trouble in getting deliveries on the six inch casing for the coach line, I am confident that we can move the present standpipe and make temporary connection from the new sixteen inch line into the old coach line. In this way our new sixteen inch line will not be held up. I am having the valve at the forebay near the reservoir taken out and also the valve in the outlet from the reservoir; also the eighteen inch valve in the line leading from the main to the engine tank. As soon as these -are salvaged and the nature of the necessary connections is determined I will arrange to have these fittings made if they cannot be purchased. I had the wood line where it crosses the northwesterly line of Main street dug out and find that it is eighteen inch pipe, but Mr. Frazier thinks that within the next few feet it reduces to twelve inch. I have asked Mr Frazier to explore this further, as it is possible by extending our line a few feet into the street we can connect to the twelve inch line instead of the eighteen inch line. As soon as this has been determined I will arrange for the purchase or making of the necessary fittings. I have today placed requisition for the making of the 16x16x8" tees for the five outlets from our sixteen inch main. Division Engineer.
