I agree.Bracken wrote to the company lawyer to find a permanent solution to a yearly problem of gate vandalism at the Stewart burial plot.

Las Vegas, Nev., Aug. 14, 1913. Mr. F. R. McNamee, Los Angeles, Cal. Dear Sir: The same old water trouble concerning the Stewart's four inches has broken out again and if anything a little more intense this time than before. The present lessors of the ranch called on me yesterday to go with them to inspect the flood gate and I found that the wear which was installed by Mr. Jessup a year or so ago, the outlet of same has been chopped out with an axe so that, instead of 4" passing through there was, at a very conservative estimate, 40". I called on Mrs. Stewart personally and explained the matter to her and have temporarily repaired the wear so that she is getting all of 4" on her ground. Mrs. Stewart advises that her agreement is, that there must be 4" delivered to her on the four acre burial plot. As this matter is the source of a yearly trouble, I would be very glad indeed if it could be worked out in some way whereby the delivery of water would be a permanent one and save these yearly troubles over the water question. If, as Mrs. Stewart says, her agreement calls for the delivery of 4" on the burial plot, would it not be well to secure enough second-hand pipe to convey this water from the present wear instead of trying to run same through open ditch? Please let me have your advice concerning this matter. Yours truly,
