The new well of the Las Vegas Land and Water Company was throwing sand. The author believed the problem would correct itself in a few days, but if not, they Company might need to construct a settling pond.

    W R Bracken Las vegas Your wire date Concerning water situation Las Vegas. Am not surprised the new well is throwing sand as I rather anticipated it would do so, Think however it will clean itself within a few days. If not it may be necessary to build a settling pond at the well and to make connection from the settling pond to the flume. I believe you have done the only thing that can be done and if necessary mechanical dept will have to pump water at Las Vegas. A-419 A Maguire 435pm
