May 15, 1924. Mr. E. E. Calvin, - President, Las Vegas Land & Water Company, Los Angeles, California. Dear Sir:- Acknowledging receipt of your letter of the 14th, in reference to drilling a well at the springs. It is our intention, at present, to use one of the two big springs and the well just completed, (which I am happy to say is now flowing, and measured today 176 miners' inches) for domestic and railroad purposes here at Las Vegas, and the other spring will be carried to the ranch, which will be used for irrigation, which in the past has been neglected account of not having sufficient water. However, the old pipe line leading from the spring to the intake will not be dismantled, but will be kept in repair for use during any emergency. Mr. Knickerbocker and Mr. Maguire were both u,i to the spring and new well last evening, and Mr, Maguire can explain to you fully all matters pertaining to the use of the water of the well just drilled in. As soon as the water of this well is brought under control and converted to the city pipe line the spring will be released for irrigation on the ranch. Yours very truly, Vice-President & Agent.
