COUNTY AGENT PROJECT Progress Report DATED: November 1, 1942 PROJECT NUMBER: State Office #172 County Office #12 NAME OF PROJECT: Formation of a Drainage District. NAME OF PROJECT: Formation of a Drainage District. Requirements by law for the establishment of a Drainage District such as proposed for drainage facilities and for the control of floods for the Lower Moapa Valley Area, calls for signers of more than one third of the Land Owners who own a major proportion of the land of the given area which has been officially designated by metes and bounds of the said District. At the close of October 1942 there were signed up 3564.26 acres; 3510.09 acres unsigned. Of the total of 220 land owners concerned with the district organization there were just exactly one third or 73 signed up, thus making margins of both lands and signers too close for favorable action. It was therefore urged that an additional 26 signers with an additional 230 acres of land be secured before proceeding further with their petition to the County Commissioners for the establishment of the district. Securing these signers and the additional acreage is progressing with the closing of this report period.
