    1*03 Angeles* A pril 2$, 1927 &r« ?* H* Kn 1 eke rbo cik. er i 20-6 32-513 23-10 Supplementing my le tte r April 22 and referrin g to Mr* Armstrong** le tte r A pril SO re la tiv e to w&ter situation «t Las Vegas* Ssvadat I did n.*t receive a copy o f Mr* Mc£hmee*s le tte r April 4* at which time he advised Mr* Armstrong that the State o f Hevada w ill require accurate measurement o f the water used in connection with Application Ho* 7300* Railroad Oc&pany and Application Ho* 7201* Las Veg&a Land and la te r Company* However* recen tly a representative of th is O ffice and oar & ter Service Supervisor have gone ov#r the s itu s - tio a and concur in the method o f measurement ns set forth in Mr* Armstrong’ s le tte r April 20 and 8$y le tte r April 22* Owing to the arrangement o f pipe lin es at the intalcs and the absence o f a reservoir* it i s not desirable to in s ta ll a meter at the intake to measure to ta l water in pipe lin es and another meter at the mad of the 16” main lin e to measure water fumishc-d the LVL and W Co** as the cost o f the two large meters would practical ly equal the cot t o f the recommended arrsngtme^ and would sat furnish information cover­ing the amount used through the various d istribu tin g lines* I f the amount* 3*658*000 gallons per day* which can flow through the main pipe line is not used* the water w ill bade up in the s e ttlin g basis and overflow into Las Vegas creek* fh is happens during periods o f small use and the amount could only be determined by the
