All of us in Southern California are concerned about our water future, specifically: JUN 111965 The expeditious and economic construction of the State Water Project that will bring Northern California water to the Southland; preservation of the integrity of the California Water Fund to assure sufficient financing for the State Water Project; protection of the water delivery contract between the State of California and The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California; support of approved plans for essential new distribution works that must be built to deliver Northern water throughout the Southland; protection of California's rights to at least million acre-feet of water annually from the Colorado River; stimulation of a greater public awareness of water problems and encouragement of public assistance in the solution of these problems so an adequate Southland water supply may be developed and safe-guarded for future generations. As a member of the Southland Water Committee, you will receive from time to time factual information concerning our water problems and the measures that are being taken to resolve them.
