Dear Sir: Referring to your letter to me of January 23rd on the above subject: My file does not show that i ever received a copy of the General Manager's letter of October 18th, although in your letter to me of October 19th you state r —»" ' v you are sending me a copy of the same. What came to me was apparently a letter from Mr. Maguire to Mr. Pettit of March 3rd, a copy of which I hand you herewith. I wrote you on October £2nd and referred to this letter from Mr. Maguire. You answered that letter with yours of October 27th. In this letter you state; "You refer to Mr. Maguire as having written a letter, but I assume you meant Mr. Comstock." The letter from Mr. Maguire merely requested the addition to the contract of a provision that the City could cancel the agreement if it ever needed the water.
