Whittamore, General Attorney, Salt Lake City, Utah. < My Lear Whittemore:- I have to acknowledge receipt of yours of the 17th inst., with reference to the above subject, and inclosing copy of deed "by which it is proposed that Mr, Walter James shall convey to our company certain land and water rights the title to which is now in Mr, James, together with copy of agreement which it is also proposed that Mr. James shall execute to our company, by which he agrees to convey to our company certain other lands desired by our company when the title thereto shall have been perfected in him, and in reply I have to say that I approve of the arrangement which you have made in the matter and trust that the same may be closed out on the lines indicated in said deed and agreement, I have arranged to have Mr. Clark instruct MeCornick & Co, to pay over to Mr, James the sum of #20,000. amount of purchase price mentioned in your letter, upon presenting to the Bank a properly receipted voucher, covering the transaction, to be prepared by you.
