Henry T h u rtell, State Engineer, Carson City, Bev, Pear S i r ,- Herewith 1 hand you application fo r pensit to appropriate public water in the state of Nevada, fey Peter Buol, and enclose with the application a sketch to give you a better idea o f the proposed appropriation. 2he town o f Las Vegas is in Section 3 4 , as you can see fey the curving o f the Las Vegas & Tonopah Railroad, as marked on the sketch, Vegas Creek heads from two or three or more springs near the Southeast corner o f Section 30 and the Northeast Corner of ^ection^f 31i~20y|dj( so that this proposed appropriation is near to the head o f the creek, i’his creek is on ground mm from it s source to where it disappears in the desert, owned fey the Las Vegas Land and Water Company, a subsidiary oompany o f the 3.P.L.A.& S.L.E.K.Company, and is the water and the land, a portion o f which was the Stewart Ranch, bought fey Senator Clark at the conception o f the building o f this railroad . She measured contents o f th is creek are 293 miners inches as reported. The ground under cultivation which this water serves is not exceeding 100 acres. There is also allowed from this stream $o the Las Vegas Ice Mfg.Co. about 30 inches o f water used in th eir ioe making.
