V RBiARKS This application is made fo r the purpose of acquiring rights to the use of the water existing in the subterranean channel or artesian basin above mentioned, and not merely to acquire righ ts to the use of water flowing from the w ell hereinabove described. Under Application Ho. 7201, this applicant was granted a C ertificate of Appropriation (C e rtific a te Record Ho. 1855, Book 6 , page 1855), fo r 2.3 cubic fee t per second from the same source and fo r the same purpose as this application, through an artesian w e ll, at the point of diversion, located in the Southwest quarter of the Southwest quarter of Section 29, Township 20, South Range 81* Hast, M.D.B.& M. At the time of the f i li n g of the Proof o f Application of Water to Beneficial Us© under said Permit 7201, the amount of water flowing at said point of diversion was 6 .6 8 c . f , s . , the total amount of which flow was appropriated under applications Ho. 7200, 7201, and 7202. That the flow of the w ell at the point of diversion described in Permit 7201 has diminished so that the flow at the present time is approximately 2,560,000 gallons per day, or less than 4 o. f . s . In Application 7201, the amount of water applied fo r was based upon an estimated requirement of 200 gallons per person per day. The actual consumption during the year 1936 fo r municipal purposes, based upon aster readings, was 118,537,577 cubic fe e t, or an average of 324.815 cubic feet per day, or a to tal of 3.759 cubic feet per second, and this consumption based upon an estimated population of 7500 required 324 gallons per person'per day* The present population of the City of Lae Togas proper is estimated at 8000, and the future requirements w ill be fo r an estimated population of 10.000. Owing to the warm climate and the large amount of water required fo r lawns, trees, shrubbery, e tc ., an average of 324 gallons per person per day is required, but the d aily requirements w ill fluctuate according to seasons. The amount her© applied fo r , to -w lt, 2.70 © .f.s . is fo r the purpose of supplying the requirements fo r municipal purposes in addition to the amount appropriated pursuant to C ertificate 7201. The d istribu tin g system consisting of settlin g basin, 2.500,000 gallon concrete re se rv o ir, pipe lin es from reservoir to City of Las Vegas, and other pipe lin e s and la t e r a ls , are described in the Proof of Application file d under Permit 7201, and the only additional new works under this application are the artesian w e ll, casing, control valves and pipe lin e from artesian well to settlin g basin, described in this application, under the heading "Description of Proposed Works", a l l of which were completed prior to (Ternary 1 , 1937.
