I agree.(COPY) Omaha - October 26, 1951 1111 Mr. E. E. Bennett - Los Angeles *(cc - Mr. Wm. Reinhardt - Los Angeles) Section 9 of agreement Audit No. 71+531 provides for Union Pacific to bill LVL&WCo. annually with a reasonable amount for certain services known as management expense, which has been determined as $9,508.00. However, in order to not distort the accounts for any one month, we have been recording proportionate amounts of this annual expense monthly, as estimates, on the books of both companies. The monthly estimate plan has not proved satisfactory because it requires more accounting work and necessitates suspending the accumulated aggregate of the monthly estimates for 11 months of each year. Since it is desirable to continue the monthly recording, will you please advise whether it is feasible to institute monthly billing in view of contract specifying annual billing. Such an arrangement would permit discontinuance of the estimate plan. If there are no legal objections to this proposal, Mr. Reinhardt is requested to advise whether he would have any objection to placing the monthly billing plan in effect. R. M.
