    > V\' : # LOS ANGELES - March 27, 1943 80-5 Mr. Leo A. McNameeJ I am enclosing copy of wire I have received from Mr. Ashby, together with copy of letter dated March 10th from the Basic Company and attachment referred to therein, and my only copy of employee chart from the McNeil Construction Company. Ifou will not# from this chart that McNeil expects to be through the early part of June, which should relieve the housing situation materially, and apparently the projected construction by the Basic, as shown by letter from the Basic to Mr. McNeil, dated February 20th, copy enclosed, contemplates housing facilities which should take care of the Basic permanent employees. I believe Mr. Bracken has some additional information on this subject, and I would appreciate it if you would prepare the necessary formal application, if you deem necessary, or letter request if that will suffice, to the Public Service Commission, requesting the cancellation of Rule 9-Q. X presume you can get additional copies of the McNeil chart from someone out there to attach as an exhibit and work up necessary housing data showing the number of houses occupied now by the McNeil employees which will be available for the Basic employees in June. As long as these promoters can finance these housing projects with our money and can secure outside money and FHA assistance, we can anticipate a continuation of these housing projects. I see no reason why they should not be built, so far as the pipe lines are concerned, under our other rules. Will you please give this matter your preferred attention. EEB LP cc - Mr. W. H.
