A1 Folger Gentlemen: Attached herewith is a copy of Commissioner Williams1 report, dated *fu!y 23, of his investigation of water shortage In las Vegas conducted at request of several residents of las Vegas, In the fifth paragraph of his report Kr, Williams states that your company expected to install an additional and larger main near Mr, Hobart*s home at 15th and Stewart Streets. Pressure valves have been ordered for installation on east Charleston so as to maintain pressure in Stontridge subdivision. Your company also plans on drilling two wells in the second artesian zone before the 1950 peak season. Complaints received subsequent to Commissioner Williams * report would Indicate a serious water shortage existed in many sections of las Vegas, other than those mentioned by you in your talk with our representative, and no suggestion was made by your company to correct the^-preaeat situation In those districts except to drill two additional wells. We wish to call your attention to Mr. Williams* recommendations outlined in the last paragraph of his report. We would appreciate having a statement ©f intentions from your company as to its plans to correct the present situation and to provide adequate water supply to the residents of las Vegas during months. the 1950 summer
