This, the board pointed out, showed the ne­cessity of immediate action and the program was swung into high gear. A three-point plan was out- . Hned by the board at its meeting laid included: | 1—Determination of a policy for the preliminary financing of the district. 2— Outline of a definite policy With the Colorado river commis­sion regarding the water avail­able and the cost to the district. 3— Immediate appraisal of the Las Vegas Land and Water com­pany’s distribution system; which will become an integral part of the system which will be set up by the district. Spokesmen for the water district said that a meeting with the county commissioners w ill be sought immediately in an ef­fort to have the commissioners declare an emergency, which is possible under the legislative act creating the water district, In order that funds can be made available for the preliminary financing of the project. The county board already has advanced some $10,000 for the, preliminary survey of the district which has been completed and is in the process of tabulation. LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, MONDAY, AUGUST 15, 1949, ‘(Continued From Page 1) funds will be worked out at the meeting between the two boards, Stringent Water Rules May Ease Here The water shortage, which has plagued the Las Vegas area for the past several weeks, is easing, it was re­ported today by A1 Folger, manager of the Las Vegas Land and W ater company, and if the present- cool spell con­tinues, sprinkling regulations will be lifted. Folger said that two weeks should see the crisis passed, but said that any easing of regulations now might prove disastrous if another hot spell arrives. ; The water company official was high in his praise of the co-operation given by the cit­izens and said, that without the whole - hearted help of every citizen, the situation could have been even worse.
