The petition to the County Coaalssioners requesting the fomation of the district, states * Me petition that eaid diet riot ho created for the following purposes* *(a) To acquire by lease, purchase, gift or other­wise, the lands, water rights, wells, watsr systeas, properties, pipe lines, pumping plants, water faellitltc, and all other properties necessary to the supplying of water for doaoetie and irrigation purpoeee to the in­habitants of Las Vegas Valley, as shown by nap attached hereto* end to distribute and furnish said watsr to the Inhabitants of Las Vegas Valley upon suoh teras and con­ditions as shall, in the opinion of the governing board of the proposed water district, best serve the interests of the inhabitants of Las Vegas Valley. *(b) To do any and all things xentlonod and stat­ed in Section 1, Chapter Id? of the 19^7 statutes of the State of Nevada. * (a) To do any and all things necessary and pref­er to the acoospllshnent and advancement of the afore­said purposts..........* "We petition end represent that the creation of eaid diet riot and the carrying out of the purposei above specified and necessary and essential to the health and well being ef the inhabitants ef such district, and all property within the boundaries of such district will be benefited by the construc­tion of the proposed iaproveaents and that the proposed im­provements are feasible and practicable end that all the prop­erty in suoh district will be benefited thereby in an amount greater than the cost of the proposed improvements.* *tfe sstlaateA that the probable cost of the organisa­tion of such district ie $2 ,500.00. * As previously stated, the County Comdssionere have approved the petition. October 19 hae now been set for the election to determine whether the district shall bs organised.
