W ater m e te r s . The average w ater consum ption at the p re se n t tim e is 370 gallons p er capita per day. This is unusually high and is due to the fa ct that there are no co n su m e rs' m e te rs m the sy stem . If m e te rs w ere in sta lled it is b e lie v e d that the average w ater con su m p ­tion w ould be red u ced to 200 to 225 gallons p er capita p er day. The w ater con su m ption in P h oen ix and T u cson , A rizon a , is 211 gpcd and 153 gp cd , r e s p e c tiv e ly .
