The com b in ed annual p a y ro ll of the seven hotels alone is $21, 278, 750. T his d oes not include the 31 other h otels and 219 m otels in the a re a . " A ll of these seven h otels have b een bu ilt sin ce 1942, starting with the E l R ancho V eg a s. The E l R ancho was fo llo w e d b y the H otel L a st F r o n tie r , H otel F la m in g o, H otel T hu nderbird, W ilbur C la rk 's D e s e rt Inn, H otel Sahara and The Sands, the latter at a c o s t of $5, 0 0 0 , 000. "T h e la st two h otels w ere both opened in 1952. F in a l plans are being m ade fo r the con stru ction of three m o re m u lti-m illio n d olla r h o te ls. An estim ated 10 additional m otels (5 of w hich are a lrea d y under con stru ction ) w ill be built in 1954.
