Los Angeles, Cal* Nov* 11, 1924* Public Service Commission of Nevada, Carson City, Nev* «3F dear Mr. Shaughnesay: Our Auditor, Mr, Barry, has referred to me- your letter of October 7th advising that your Commission has adopted a Uniform Classification of Accounts for Water Utilities, etc., promulgated by the Committee on Statistics and Accounts of the National Associ­ation of Railway and Utilities Commissioners# Las Vegas Land and Water Company is not, strictly speaking, an electric utility or a water utility, but is engaged in the hand­ling of real estate, although it is also a water utility and an electric utility, in a limited way. serve strictly the classification adopted by your Commission, as it would require us to keep separate books for the water utility, electric utility, and real estate activities, as the corporation-as a single entity, and its stockholders- represent all three ac­tivities. mission would permit us to make the same sort of showing in future reports as we have in previous reports- eoneemii^ the General Balance Sheets, and we will, if you so desire, classify the rev­enues and expenses of the water utility and electric utility sep­arately, in the manner provided for in the classification. We could also separate, if you so desire, the Material on Hand ac­counts. for the purpose of the annual report, in the same manner as heretofore.
