V - 2 - On the morning of April 12th I suggested to Mr. Snorf that he move the point of application of chlorine to each of wells Mbs 8 and 10 which would thereby accomplish the chlorination of the pipe lines leading from each of these two wells into the settling basin at the same time providing chlorine through the settling basin. On the morning of April 12th I again called Mr. Snorf and he advised that arrangements had been made to introduce the chlorina­tion at the wells instead of the settling basin and that during the night time of April 11th chlorine had been continuously introduced into well #10 for a period of 18-hours at which time well #10 was shut off and chlorine set up and moved to well #8 at 5 s00 A. M. on the morning of the 13th. At 9:30 A. M« morning of April 13th, Mr. W. H. Johnson •phoned from Las Vegas stating that he had talked to Mr. Saxon, Chemist in charge of the Las Vegas Health Department offices, who gave him an OK on the basis of the 48-hour test on water sample taken on Tuesday April 11th from the lower part of the settling basin near Charleston Reservoir. In view of the above, I have instructed Mr. Snorf at Las Vegas to continue the application of chlorine in well #8 for the balance of the work day today at which time chlorination should be discontinued until further advised. On April 11th after instructing Mr. Snorf as to the procedure to follow, I called Mr. Martin, Division Engineer, and talked to him personally about this matter and he has cooperated 100$ and issued the necessary instructions to take care of overtime work. I am again calling him this morning telling him that I have advised Mr. Snorf to discontinue the chlorination until further notice. L. R. M. 1
