3 Is made of very light galvanized metal which does not set tight to 2* boards* After peg was corrected and silt dug away from weir, weir measurement was 3-3/8" as compared to record measurement of 4“ on July 30th. Well #7 This well discharges into old wooden weir box, thence into pond which was silted up practically to lip of weir. No peg was found as it was probably buried under the silt. Width of weir, opening was found to be exactly 2 ft. Had survey gang set peg. Dug silt away from weir, Weir reading was 6" as compared to record reading of 5-1/8" as of July 30th. Pump was running. Wells #1 and #3 Measured in pond Just west of old settling basin fence. Well #5 also could be measured through this pond but it has not been the practice to measure it here since the flow from Well #5 is so small it was not considered good practice to try to weir it through 4' weir at this pond. Pond was full of weeds many of which projected up above the level of the water. Measuring peg had two nails in it, one of which was .001* higher than lip of weir and the other .005' higher than the lip of weir. Had one of these nails driven down and the other one set level with lip of weir. Weir opening made of very light galvanized metal and measured 3*-11-15/6" across opening. Wood frame on lower side of weir lip obstructed flow of water to slight extent. Pond was full of water when we arrived at this location but we cleared weeds away from weir as best we could and leveled uo the weir opening and set pegs level therewith. Well #3 was then turned into pond and after a considerable time was measured as 5-1/8" as compared to record measurement of 5-1/4" as of July 30th. Well # 3 - was then turned off and Well # 1 turned on and measurement taken of 3-1/8" as compared to record measurement of 3-1/2" as of July 30th. Little Springs is measured through wooden weir box 15' north of fence around old settling basin. This box looks good as it was burled in wet ground and the entrance flow comes in at bottom of box. Metal opening of.vreir was cut from 1/8" thick plate and measured 2*0-1/16" at bottom and 2' 0" at the top. This opening was apparently cut with a torch and the small beads of metal are still attached to the cut and were never polished off. The measuring hook was found to be .012' lower than lip of weir opening. This discrepancy was corrected and weir reading taken as 2-3/8" as compared with 2-3/4" as of July 30th. Big Springs - Wells #2 and 6 Big Springs and Wells #2 and 6 are measured through weir box located 15' east of fence around old settling basin. This box
