Mack; Confirming conversation, will you please have your forces at Las Vegas make a thorough inspection of all spring houses, settling basins, reservoirs and other facilities, and make repairs which may be neoessary to prevent rodents, Ineeets, birds, etc., from gaining entranoe into these structures and oauslng possible oontamlnation of the water. Some of the screens are rusted badly and require replacement. Hinged openings In the walls of the old settling basin at the overflow should be replaoed with galvanized wire window screen over the opening. Large cottonwood trees adjacent to “Little Spring" house and smaller trees at "Big Spring" house should be cut down and the roots out or killed where they are now entering into the springs through the concrete walls. In accordance with our discussion, all this work should be done as quickly as possible. Maintenance forces should make frequent inspections to see that facilities are In proper condition.
