City Of Las Vegas DLaesc emVebgears ,1 7,N e1v9a4d5a Mr. Walter R, Bracken, Vice President, Las Vegas Land & Water Co., Lag Vegas, Nevada* Dear Mr* Bracken! Because of the controversey over the Charleston Avenue pipe line - I would like to bring you up-to-date on this project in-so-far as the City is concerned, Mr. McNeil made application for a temporary permit for one of his men that this Job might go ahead* The Plumbing Board called a meeting and I attended this meeting. This Board was very anxious that this Job go ahead and were willing to make any and all concessions necessary to permit Mr. McNeil to go ahead. I brought to their attention the necessity of having this Job go ahead and they voted to give a temporary permit to Mr. McNeil*s represenative and waive any examination necessary. The Plumbing Inspector was ordered to issue the permit and he found it was impossible to do so because of the law - it does not permit a temporary permit. In order that this Job not be delayed each one of the Master Plumbers present offered to take out the permit for McNeil in their own name so that the job would not be delayed. I conveyed this information to Mr, McNeil and he informed me he was sure that the Railroad Company would not agree to this ajid he would let me know. Up to this time I have not heard from Mr. McNeil* The Plumbing Board are calling a special meeting tomorrow night and they are going to examine Mr. McNeil’s represenative and issue him a permit, I I would like to say that I have been in close touch with this particular problem and the City and the Plumbing Board are anxious that this job not be delayed. Yours very truly, E. W. Cragin, Mayor.
