July 19*. 1946 7334 MeKell Construction Co., 5860 Avalon Boulevard, Los Angeles 3, C aliforn ia Gentlemen: In connection with contract fo r construction of reservoir and water f a c i li t i e s at Las Vegas, Hevada, please be advised that I t has now been decided to eliminate the following work which was included in the contracts (1) Dismantle and remove pipe lin e between Wells Hos* 8 and 10, consisting o f 150* - 10* C .I .P ., 812*-12" C .I.P . and 1196*-14” Transit s pipe, to ta l 2,158 f t * (2) Lay 12* C .I. pipe lin e and b a c k fill trench from W ell Ho* 9l to junction with lin e between W ell Ho. 9 and se ttlin g basin , using salvaged 12* C .I* pipe including removal of existing connections to Well Ho. 9, turning cross on w ell and in sta llin g connections to new lin e - 357*-12* C .I. pipe lin e . (3) Clean and recondition a l l pipe removed under Item 1 and deliver a l l pipe not used under Item 2 to-Railroad Company Store yard at Las Vegas. (4) B a c k fill trench from which pipe Is to be relieved between Wells Hos. 8 and 1C* As this was a part of the work to be performed under your guaranteed cost proposal, please advise the amount of credit to be allowed due to elimination of above work.
