ARTICLE 2. The documents form ing the con tract are complementary and what is c a lle d fo r t y one s h a ll be as binding as i f i t were c a lle d f o r by a l l . They are intended to include a l l d e ta ils o f la b o r and m a teria l reasonably necessary fo r the proper execution o f the work. Should they d isagree, the Engineer s h a ll_determine which quantity and/or q u a lity o f the work is to be furnished. Where referen ce is made to approval o f work, m a te ria l, fix t u r e s , e t c . , such approval, unless otherw ise d is t in c t ly sta ted , is to be understood as th at o f the Engineer. ARTICLE 3, A l l m a te ria ls , unless otherw ise s p e c ifie d , s h a ll be new and o f the best q u a lity o f th e ir re s p e c tiv e kinds. ARTICLE if. The word “Engineer1’ whenever used in th is contract s h a ll r e fe r to and in d ic a te the.person appointed by the Owner to supervise the con struction and under whose d ire c tio n the work h erein p rovided f o r is to be performed. ARTICLE 5. Any employe s h a ll be removed from the work o f the Contractor at any time on request o f the Engineer f o r incompetence, n e g le ct o f duty or misconduct or whenever such employe s h a ll not be acceptable to the Engineer; and the Contractor expressly covenants and agrees to p ro te c t and save harmless the Owner from any expense, claim s or damages whatsoever, which may a ris e from so dism issing any employe or employes, e ith e r of the Contractor or any subcontract­o rs , as provided in th is A r t ic le . ARTICLE 6 , The Engineer s h a ll have fr e e access to the work f o r in sp ection o f the same at any and a l l times, and the Contractor s h a ll, at a l l tim es, m aintain proper f a c i l i t i e s and provide safe aacess f o r in sp ection o f a l l parts o f the work, and. t o t h e shops wherein the work is in preparation. Where s p e c ific a tio n s requ ire work to be s p e c ia lly tested or approved, i t s h a ll not be tested or. covered up without tim ely n o tice to the Engineer o f i t s readiness f o r in sp ection and without h is approval th ereof or consent_ th ereto. Should any work in th is con tract or others be covered up without such n o tic e , approval or consent, i t must, i f requ ired by the Engineer, be uncovered f o r examination a t the C on tractor's own expense.
